Yep. And I'll try to be there to help, under the condition that my work stops crushing me like it's doing now ;)

Where are the days that in Grimbergen they even had a full airshow? I remember having been there in the 80'ies as a kid, they even had a F-111 on a flying display. Now that I get nostalgic, even the "Donkfeesten" in Overmere had an airshow with F-111, Harrier, Apache, F-16 ... all above the lake .. Those were the days .... Now we already get excited when seeing the seaking ...

Where can one find more details about it ?
Will it be possible to make "rondvluchten" on some aircraft a bit more unusual than Ce 152 or 172 ?

rondvluchten

Post by Tivoli »

'Rondvluchten' can be done after contacting the staff of the club.
and 'by the way'; the event takes place every two years. So for most of you, it's now or never.

With all due respect, the term "airport" is perhaps a bit overrating dear little EBGB? But surely the event deserves all our sympathy, I worked the fuel pump truck there a couple of years ago and that's a very nice memory!

It was very nice in Grimbergen. Very well organised with lots of people and it was very "familial" (you know what I mean).

Saw the SR20 (full EFIS 8) ) and some DA40's, both my favorite GA planes.

I will start in September with my PPL course :P Looking forward to it!

Was there too, not for too long though. Our baby's first teeth is coming and he is running high on fever, not feeling very well. Came around 13.00, saw many take-offs/landings (what a busy day for Grimbergen Airport ;-) ), went inside the hangar as well, there should be a www.luchtzak.be-stand the next edition with an old pc running a demo-version of www.luchtzak.be and hot cuties distributing brochures

Where the heck was Chris Avro, send me your telnr so next time I can call ya ;)

I had planned to come but in the very last minute today I couldn't due to some family business :(

Concerning my telnr I already gave it to you ;) Hope to see you and your family soon again Bart.

Cheers
Chris

EDIT: It would indeed be nice to have a Luchtzak stand :p must be fun :)

Me too had really wanted to go and go on push-bike too, given their promise of a special welcome to cyclists. Bart, did you go on bike and if so, what was this famous special welcome?

Seeing the forecast however, as a student pilot I judged it wiser not to take the risk - and was shown right: there were thunderstorms over my roof for most of the afternoon. And as always there was lots of work waiting to be done so I set my priorities elsewhere.

The idea of a LUCHTZAK booth at a next edition seems very attractive - but frankly, what do we have on offer? A bunch of funny looking people mad with aviation, yes, and what more?

@ airbus_fan: I have VERY fond memories of the PPL ground class I took at EBGB in 2003 or thereabouts. The teacher at that time was an absolute genius, I can only hope he is still doing the ground class, if memory serves his name is Mr. Goossens. Only I'm afraid his memories of me are less positive, I was the ubiquitous difficult pupil that year.

A tad disappointing, no? I had secretly been dreaming of an intensive massage... Seems I made a good analysis of cost/risks/profit ...

I'll let you know in 2 weeks  A friend of mine told me yesterday he will also start his theory in September, so it will be even more fun :D Really looking forward to it.

I went there, and I'm glad I did!
There where of course the moderen and classic props, but also models on display, gliders and other aviation-related stands in the hanger. My dad took pictures of nearly every aircraft parked outside, and also some of the models on display:

On one of the pics, you will notice HL7419 in the background, as spotted by AF036.
The most sexy girl in the sky: The Sud-Est Caravelle 12.

"On one of the pics, you will notice HL7419 in the background, as spotted by AF036"

If you talk about the 744 seen with OO-NKL, it's not HL7419!
I still was at the airfield at that time and I was present when they hangared the OO-NKL!
I saw the Asiana at 18:34LT and it entered clouds at quite low altitude!
the one on the photo looks better like a Kallita ;)

I just wanted to correct but this isn't so important!
anyway, my photos will follow when I will find some time to upload!
I have a lot of work waiting! (Verviers, Schaffen,..)

Nice photos by the way!

Julien
