Spotting places at Kortrijk/Wevelgem

Post by Avro »

Hi All,

I'm planning to do a visit to KortrijkWevelgem airport in the coming days.

Can someone tell me whether it's easy to find some spots, and if it's possible for everybody to ride on the road/taxiway along the runway ?

Finally, is there a schedule of planes landing there everyday ? And do they use the famous taxiway on the road ?

Thanks for your help
Chris

Hello Avro,

Check ou the Wevelgem pages on www.westwings.be and you will find your answers. Anyone can drive on the road/taxyway on the northside of the runway just watch out for the aircraft

There are no sheduled flights at Wevelgem, untill a few months ago Emerald A/W was operating a cargo flight every weekday during the evening with Short 360's or HS.748's but that's finished alltough it's possible the flight has been taken over by Nightexpress or another company but I can't confirm that. You will only see general aviation and if you are lucky maybe a bizjet.

If you want to take pics take a ladder with you :!:

Thank you very much for your help westwings.

I'll need to be lucky if I want to encounter a plane on the taxiway.

Chris

PS: Will try to visit EBOS one or two times again as well.

Are those Farnair flights arriving at the same time as the Emerald's used to do? and are they flying every weekday? I never saw one of them, only the Nightexpress Be90 was seen a couple of times.

For what it's worth: the restaurant in the terminal is quite good. It is a bit trendy, even classy, yet informal. Not cheap but the food and service make it worth its money. Also the view over the apron and runway is very nice. I believe it is called the Biggles. I found it to be full on more than one occasion so a reservation call might be a good idea.

The restaurant also has a small outside terrace but that's closed at the moment because they are extending it :D Anyway you have a nice view from the inside aswell.

Hi,

Anybody knows if it's coming this evening at the same time again? The weather looks good, so maybe I'll give it a try this evening.

Thanks in advance,
Nik

Is there a cargo flight this evening?
Who does the ground handling? FIA?
And who plays the role of freight agent?
