They look quite nice, I admit, but a Belgian airline should be ashamed of itself for providing Evian bottled water (which is French) instead of Spa water (which is Belgian and the best bottled water you can get, I don't drink any other brand).

The snacks on board VLM are also very pleasant, but they're not low cost. And also Sabena served very nice sandwiches.

The only problem with the Virgin Express meals (which indeed look very appetising) is that you have to order them 48 hours in advance.

It is indeed a shame... An even better solution would be a variety of Belgian bottled water(s ?): Spa, Chaudfontaine, Duke (half sparkling).

Yet I think they decided to take 'Evian' due to the 'good name' of the brand... 'Evian' is more famous than Spa or Chaudfontaine or Duke (Duc'Eau, bottled in Francorchamps!!)

By the way, I think their meals are much more affordable than Ryanair's.

Only problem I have with them is the price, if you look closely you can see that the portions are very small, yet you have to pay something between €9-13.

You DON'T have to pay but you CAN buy one.
Even for 12-13 euro, the total price of the ticket remains low compared to...

Well, I regularly have to help people with booking a flight. Every time I am surprised that the so called low cost airline VEX claims to be, is only a few Euro's cheaper when you book very far in advance.

Closer to the departure date, VEX is still cheaper, but only at the most stupid hours (evening departure from BRU, morning departure to BRU).

On my experiences, VEX was every time between 30 and 340 euro more expensive for a return. Add to that the buy on board food, the additional legspace for €20 return and the non existant service on the ground and SN is of course the better choice.

What VEX asks is extremely high in comparision with other low cost like FR and EZY.

You're right Frederic...
When I was planning my trip to Rome, I checked on several web-sites and VEX was as little as €10 cheaper than SNBA...
As a result, I decided to fly FR (Ryanair): €53 and I took my packed lunch aboard...

AZ currently offers FCO for €140.

And if you want to have some fun, fly BRU-MXP-FCO-LIN-BRU for €188

I totally agree with you Frederic. I was also very surprised when I saw that SN's prizes weren't that high at all.
In my opinion SNBA is the best of the two airlines.
Don't take me wrong, I also like VEX very much.

BRU-MXP-FCO-LIN-BRU must be a dream of a trip for a spotter...
Yet, when I went to Rome I could just have 3 days off... and my travelmate wanted to fly as quickly as possible since she is a phobic-flyer
