I have seen there a TNT Airways 747-400 last saturday evening. I supose it was OO-TJA. There were also 2 TU204's.

Were that not Air Rep a/c ??

Service to bru will probably resume eff 13may, but now with aeroflot flightnumber. Will try to get confirmation during week-end.

About thr 747. I read on another forum that this service will stopped in near future. 747crew will go back to their previous a/c type.

There was one TU204 in TNT collors or something like that, and one in air Charry Cargo collors. I do not know anything of that last company. I think TNT is leasing 2 Tu 204's.

Not true André, the most well known examples in Belgium where the 747-129's of Sabena. They had originally 3 windows but later converted to 10 upper windows.

A little explanation:

Until l/n 147 all 747 's (100 or 200) where build with 3 upper windows. L/n 147 a Qantas example was the first one with a slightly stretched upper deck compartment (6 feet more) & associated 10 upper windows. The stretch was possible because of internal rearrangements, so no external dimension change was needed on the upper deck. Later on, some of the original "3 upper windows" planes were converted, like the Sabena examples.

Conclusion: identifying a 100 or 200 is only possible by checking the books.

Thanks, Q707, for the explanation.

I had the opportunity a couple of times to fly 1st class to JFK on Sabena's 747-100. Not because I had a 1st class ticket, but because I was upgraded from business. That was a wonderful experience to go to the upper lounge and relax in deep cushioned seats and sip champagne and smoke cigars in a place decorated with paintings from famous Belgian artists.

This kind of luxury has now completely disappeared :cry:

The upper floor has now to make money: there are only more seats :!:

Mostly you can see the difference between a -100 and -200 at the engines which are larger, but this is not always the case.

For Sabena it is correct first they 3 windows and later during the Convertible conversion they added windows like for the others.
