Unless Airbus conducts a Board Meeting this weekend and approves the A350/A370 project, which is unlikley, there will be no announcement at Farnborough.

The article in your link says there probably WILL be an announcement on the A350/370. Just not an official launch.

The big board meeting was held on Sunday, so Monday should bring some kind of announcement, rumours are that costs are going to be over 12 billion Euro's.
Three variations but not composite fuselage, heavier than the 787 but wider, it will be interesting.

If the new A350/A370 impresses customers, Airbus will probably get a big bounce at the Airshow, the speculation is that Qatar, and Emirates would order the planes if they meet their specification. This whole A350 thing has set up what will be an interesting week at the Farnborough Airshow.

Some pictures from Farnborough:

There's ten pages, so look at them all, especially the A380 arrival shots.

It seems that Emirates will announce an order of 10 747-8F, if this story is indeed true, what impact will this have on the A380F program?

Here's a story of Lufthansa's view on freighters:

747 does make a better freighter for its nose-loading capability, at the moment the A380F has nothing special apart than a higher capacity... and also while you can fit 2 stories on the A380pax, for cargo, the 747's fuselage is probably not that much shorter than the A380, so the A380F's advantage is only its higher load capability.

Hope the A350/370 will spring some positive surprises!

Not a really good argument because there are more converted 747 freighter without nose loading capability than 747F. Nose-loading takes a lot of time and is only reserved for oversized cargo (really a niche).

I thought those BCFs are converted so that they are nose-loaded?

No, they are not, but Boeing claims, "Best of all, your 747-400BCF will have virtually the same cargo capability as a production freighter."

However, I doubt Stepha380 claim and would like to see some real numbers as there have only been 2 or 3 747-400BCFs delivered to date.
