I guess everybody will agree that this is complete nonsense? Big was my surprise (spoken about a big understatement....) when i read this in an article in "Het Volk" that stated this quote:

Matthias Thoen

Please, do not start the old air force versus airliners discussion ....
In the eyes of air force pilots, airline pilots are coach drivers that can not fly, but in the eyes of airline pilots flying military jets has nothing to do with real flying, but is only a game.
Let's say that both air force pilots and airline pilots are doing a good job, and that both sorts of pilots are very good in what they are doing. But they are just doing a different job ...

Without having the intention to defend Grossiels, I'm for 99,99 % sure that he didn't said and meant it that way.
The problem is that a lot of journalists don't know what they are talking and writing about, and use the words of someone in the way they want them to use.
I heard so many times the discussions of military transport and fighter pilots, about the facts that C-130's and Airbusses are like trucks and busses and you can't compare them with the fighters they're flying. Those discussions are mostly held after duty at the bar,   even by fighter pilot's who once flew fighters and now are commercial pilots. But..... those discussions went never about the capabilities and experiences of the ones compared to the others, and I think that now again the words of Grossiels had to be considered that way But..... those discussions went never about the capabilities and experiences of the ones compared to the others, and I think that now again the words of Grossiels had to be considered that way.
