If true, this will still need a lot of time, given the fact that they are still to explore the major opportunities and assess whether it is indeed an interesting market for them as a company. We flightsimmers can only hope that they will take this serious and come up with a competitive product for MSFS. Such competition would finaly lead to GREAT improvements to be made in subsequent versions of flight simulator instead of the 'minor' improvements I have experienced ever since I fly with the simulator (my first version was the '95, then '98, the 2000 and finally bought the '04, skipped 2002)

Kind regards,
tom

having seen a video of a CEA simulation, i can only hope this will be true since the graphics here are far more superior then FS.

But so is the hardware that it is running on I would suppose... Those machines aren't your average desktop PC.

Has anyone an idea about the improvements MS will introduce in FS 2006 ?
Will these be 'major' or minor improvements... again ?

I've bin a couple of times in simulators from CAE and they are good !!

like Atr 42/72, F50, Do328, f27, C130

i can tell you if they want to make something for a normal computer , that will be a MAJOR job .
if they want to make it much more realistic than it is now ,you need to have a very good uptodate computer i guess .

Interesting! I hope the quality will not drop when they make it for the pc.
Something I'm hoping to see in FSX and CAE are better crash effects.

sloping runways would be nice too,... Courchevel is a laugh in FS9, especially with those trees right in front of the runway :?

I agree. I was dissapointed when I tried to take off. Saba is also terrible without scenery. The island is flat in FS, but is in fact a big mountain in real life. Those 'extreme' airports are unusable in FS.
