and here's what happened to Blue Angel 5 on friday : Image
luckily this blown tire had no dramatic consequence for BA 5, just a interruption of the show, the time to come back and land, and get in the spare plane : BA 7 ( the double seater ) to go on with the show :P

the whole collection can be found here Leeuwaarden 2006
super show, well done KLu thumbsup

Hi

I really hoped for someone to open this topic.

I am searching for pics about it. Found it!

FANTASTIC pictures!!! It really was a marvelous day , really nice.
Has been a wile ago since i've seen a so good airshow. The Blue Angels
where really fantastic just like the Patrouille de France , wich to my oppinion where also really good , and of course the Patrouille de Suisse , and the F-15E and much other planes.

I left home at Herentals at 05:45AM but we only arrived at 11:15 at the show.
The traffic was very calm until we came near the airport (5km) , we drove wrong twice , then when we finally arrived , we had to search for a parking spot along te long long long express-way wherenext you had to park , and next thing was waiting in for a bus. Finally arrived at the airbase , there was a long long row in front of the gates. But anyway , I got in and it was MARVELOUS. Unfortunatly , by then I'd already missed the Mil Mi-24V 'Hind' and some others. From out of the bus it seemed the 'Hakwer Hunter Flying Group' wasn't bad at all either , I really liked the roll around the n°1 plane , on the end. :P

But you do seems to had a bit a better spot (view on the runway) than me. I had to miss the groundshow due to that. Anyway , 'Fat Albert' got JATO airborne right , but really RIGHT in front of me :D:P

I saw a lot people with small ladders , now I might going to do a dangerous speech on this site , I have totally no problem with ladders , but most of THOSE people where INCREDEBLY selftisch. I had to travel for nearly 6 hours to. I found it kind a incredeble that , those people who had ladders who could see over everyone in the entire croud , especially HAD to stand in the front line , so that WE , all the other more than 200 000 people had to see to the people on the ladders in front of us instead of seeing something from the flightline too. So a good advice for those people to be more 'solidair' with the other spotters...if you DO have a ladder , those 2 or 3 meters wont make a lot of difference. You can better leave some people standing in front of the fence , because , you can see over them anyway...incredebly. Anyway , that's just my humble opinion.
But if I go to the UK (FIA 2006) I'm going to take a ladder with me too I think.

I only wished they had such a attracteble airshows in Belgium too.

We only have 'Sanicole' , Koksijde is dying out and Bierset is only for 'Choppers' if i'm not mistaking. And at Beavechain are long not as much as visitors as at the Netherlands last weekend. Wish they would be back soon , 'The Angels' , taste to more :P

Hello Yannick,

That's why we organized a bustrip to Leeuwarden.
We had left Berchem at 3:00 and we arrived at the airbase around 6:30.

So we were one of the first people to get in and found ourselfs a very nice place in front of the fences.

The people who came with us were very happy we organised such a thing, because they didn't drive by themselfs, so they could rest a little bit on the way to Leeuwarden and back.

If you're interested we organize a bustrip to Fairford also, so check out www.airshowtrips.be. or send a PM to me if you want more info.

Hope to see you then

Hello

Indeed , that's early , but next time I go to an airshow and I drive myself , I'm going to leave early too.

And thanks for the offer of the info.

Certainly not that I wouldn't like it , but I think THIS year at least I wont go to RIAT , I already go to the FIA 2006 (Farnborough airshow 2006).

But it could be that next year I DO go to the RIAT. ;)

Best regards: Yannick ;)
