Your welcome, in the time I was working there on a day a 737 was in for some urgent emergency repair. That's the only time I saw a 737 over there. It can also be the case it is bought by a private owner. A lot of F28's used to be in the hands of rich oil sjeiks filled with the most luxe interiour and Fokker Aircraft Services was specializing into the maintenance of those aircrafts. Always new work clothes on before you went in, cover your shoes with plastic covers or even better walk on your socks. So maybe one of those guys let the work on the 737 done by Fokker because of good experiences, but that's a wilde guess ofcourse :)

Vlm seem very strongly favour the Future 70, as the 100 is too large.

Get your story straight, planning production is done by Rekkof which is owned by the CEO of VLM. If the production starts again (in China!) it will be first only the F100 and not the F70, maybe in a later stadium
A318, To get your story straight: Rekkof wil START with the F70 and in a later stadium the F100  .

http://www.rekkof.nl/about/index.htm
Rekkof will start production of Fokker 70 JetLiner as soon as the first 80 Fokker 70 JetLiners have been ordered. After this launch criterium Rekkof will be ready for producing Fokker 100’s as well.

I thought it was called the Fokker 70, not the "Future" 70, or am I missing something???
I tried to add a comment to this effect yesterday but it was deleted.

Ahaaa

:!: :!: GALLEYTALK :!: :!: RADIOGALLEY :!: :!: GALLEYTALK :!: :!:

Before there were any rumours about the mergertalks between SN and VEX, there have been some RUMOURS about a VLM F70 service BRU-BOD-BRU in cooperation with vex, in case the current B737 service (operated by VEX) would not be proven succesfull.

Anybody else heard this story?

I thaught VLM was going to expand from their main base LCY with ERJ170.
Can a Fokker 70 land at LCY? As far as I know Avro's are the biggest A/C being able to land at this airport.

VEX issued a press release not so long ago, claiming that its Bordeaux route was rather a success! (see https://www.aviation24.be/article1690.html)

VLM seem more interested in the commuter market, I would ahve thought it highly unlikely that they would include Bordeaux in their route network.

Yes - the ERJ is now able to land in London City, as is the larger Fokker jet, but I don't know if the approach would be as much fun in these types as it is in the Fokker 50!!

Why shouldn't it be :?: . It's probably the opposite.

The Fokker 50 has a nose dive approach as a matter of course, whichever airport it is landing in - that is the way they fly. With the wings being higher, you actually see how much the aircraft is pitched forward by looking at the engine and the wing and how much lower the front of the engine is than the back.
