Hay someone been to PEK or PVG?

I will be in China from August 22nd to Septemebr 23rd and would be interested in any background information you have to share. Of course I have the usual amount of travel related books about the region, but I would appreciate any comment, especially if it is aviation related - possibilitites to fly, aviation museums, and so on...

Hi,

I've been several time to China for business, so unfortunately I can't say anything about aviation museums and stuff. I can give you however one advice for PVG: you have to try the Maglev train. Travelling at 430km/h over land is absolutely a great feeling.

P.S. The Chinese beer Tsingtao is actually pretty good! Don't drink import!

Sure the experience in the maglev is incredible... PVG---city 33 km = 7 min travel!
Over PEK, don't forget to look outside when your aircraft is taxiing. The airportbuidling is very big... and the new one on the other side is twice so big. under construction(Bejing 2008)
If you have time, in PEK ... many spotting places but care off because i think that photography of airports and aircrafts is not allowed

I photographed my butt off in China, in the Terminal taking a load of pictures and no one seemed to care. So no big problem to do that I think, but I wouldn't try to attract to much attention.
