They're not very friendly in there and it's closed on a Wednesday.

I think that if you want to spot the 747's, you'd better go to Steenokkerzeel village because most 747 land at runway 25R and the Jumbo cafe is at 25L

Thanks for the tip :D
Are there any specific times when 747's are most active, as in what is the best time to spot them ? And is there a certain place in Steenokkerzeel where to go ?[/i]

I know the Jumbo café. Indeed they are not very friendly to spotters. You need atleast 500mm to shoot from their teracce. I went overthere once, NEVER again.

The only 747s at Brussels Intl. are cargo planes and you can't time those. If your in luck you might catch 3 a day so don't bother going overthere for the 747s. The best spot is at the "graveyard" at the 25R.

This Summer Royal Air Maroc will fly from Casablanca to Brussels with a 744.
(From the 26th of June until the 11th of September, but only on day one).

That's the only passenger plane in the near future

I often go to the Jumbo and I think that whether they're friendly or unfriendly mainly depends on their mood. Sometimes they were friendly, sometimes they weren't. Serving food goes quite fast and the meals are good.

Good luck!

And according to the schedule the following cargo
747's operate into BRU (but delays can appear) :

* Cathay : B742F daily except Wednesday (and daily as of 6 September)
* Kalitta : B742F daily
* Asiana : B744F on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday
* Korean : B744F on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday
* Singapore : B744F daily except Monday, with one flight on Wednesday and Friday,
two flights on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and 4(!) flights on Sunday.

The CX flight is sometimes operated by Air Atlanta Icelandic.

@ kat :

If you want to know the exact schedules, you can send me a PM.

I've noticed that if you want to see some 747's at BRU, Tuesday is a good day, as quite some 747's land between morning and, let's say 4PM (well, 'quite': SQ, CX, OZ, KE and K4)

As from around 4PM, you can also watch those 747's depart one after the other.

If I recall well, Sunday is also a good day, however I don't know if the arrivals/departures are 'concentrated' around a certain period of the day.

Best regards,
Ivan

Today around 4.00pm, 2 B747 departed after the other one. First the B742 of Cathay Pacific Cargo and than the B744 of Korean Air Cargo. Just after the B747's we had a MD11 of the Saudi's.

Also around 6.00pm departed the 747 of Asiana.

Kind regards
Bavo

Thanks guys (and gals ?) for your replies :D

I'll have to think some more what day to do the visit to get the most out of it.

Here at EFHK we don't get that many heavies; CargoLux on Friday evenings and some Antonov's sometimes but I seem to be busy with handling my own planes always and can't see anything else except the taxiing which ain't alot :(
