Post by Lyulka »

I have just installed fs 2004, but I just can't find any advantages compared with fs 2002? Can anyone help me?

@ VBird,
FS2004 has high performance requirements from your PC.

I got FS2000, FS2002 and FS2004 installed. All are working fine at my PC although my Graphics card (Geforce3) sometimes has problems with the frames of FS2004 whilst flying in city's.

Best Regards,
Yvo

FS2004 probably needs the newest Microsoft Windows version to work correctly!

I have also got XP pro! But my FS2004 crashes all the time. So i'm switched back to FS2002. This game runs very good on XP. I'm now waiting for a new graphical card and than i would fly FS2004 :D

seems as though MS is going to cut in his own finger soon ..

many people now stick to the fs2002 for the simple reason: "we got many add-ons which are build for fs2002 and work beautifully and do not work under fs2004"

so there you go, they cut themselves already. they make a game which is not 100% finished. it's an open game and to be honest that's the correct thing for them to do. we add stuff wherever and whenever we feel that is needed. if MS would make a sim, with all boeing, all airbus, all general aviation etc etc, with real time AI planes in every livery, with detailed scenery of every city and every airport .. OMG! we would be buzzy 3 years installing the thing :p

So an open game (as i always call it .. they make the roster, you fill it wherever you want) is what they make now and that is exactly the reason why now probably fs2004 is not selling as good as fs2002 was one day. i'd love to see the numbers from MS.

me, i don't have much add-ons. just the Fokker50 and some scenery from airports i frequent. therefore i use fs2002 still for my home cockpit. fs2004 could be concidered but then i'd need that Fokker50 panel from Espen to become fs2004 compatible. Also i'd need the newer version of fsuipc (paywere now) and wideview (payware now as well) ... so i stick to the cheaper option which is fs2002 at the moment.

maybe in the future i'll go fs2004 or fs2006 who knows ..

either way i got this feeling that fs should "stunt" and add an airbus to their fleet for a change .. but then again .. who cares 'bout defailt planes, right ? first few weeks cuz there are no alternatives but after that they are so much goner!

I have XP and FS9 runs great! The only problem is that the frames are a bit slow.

I don't get it, why are you always complaining about frames etc. If I set my resolution to the maximum, go to the most complex scenery using the most complex aircrafts, my FS still runs smoothly. But than again I do have A very strong brand new computer...

32 Mb on ur videocard is not enough! 128 is recommended.

U say u dont get it why complaining about low frames, but then u say u have a brand new and fast PC???

FS2002 & 2004 both run very smooth on my pc.
But the differene between 02 and 04 are minimal. And I still don't get it why they make a pro and a normal eddition . Ther's nothing difficult about it. Some extra gauges and options that's about it. I'm still dreaming of a flight sim with realistic sounds and not a vacuum cleaner (standard sounds) . Thank god that there are people who make those add-ons elswhise it wouldn't be fun at al.

Post by speedbird1 »

I have FS2004 it's geat, although you do need a fast computer for running it, my exhisting one just was like flying in glue!! But now new computer etc and it's all good. FS2004 is alot better than FS2002 I feel.
