Hi!
As far as I'm concerned I know only 2 places for spotting outside the fences of the airport! but I guess some more can be found!

the 1st spot is along the N568 (south side of the airport)
some guys use ladder to shoot over the fence (but some trucks were working between the rwy and the spot last week)
shot exemple:

the 2nd spot is on the North of the rwy at mid-rwy (in front of the twr)
Rue Santos-Dumont. There is a grid at a corner close to the restaurant and it's possible to shoot through it.

and I guess it should be possible to stand close to the Sonaca or the VOR along a road.. (on the West side at the TRH 07) but I never been there and don't know what will be the result!

I made a draw for you:

Good luck
Julien.

Hello,

Some other places can be used for spotting around CRL :

- To go to the eastern end of the runway : starting from the first spot
described by Julien, you have to go further on N568 (eastwards); at the
first roundabout turn left (following the "Aeropole" indications); after +/-
200 M you'll see the white / red fences and the lights of runway 25; from
this point you can have a good sight of approaching aircrafts
- Another possibility is the other end of the runway : from the first spot
described by Julien, continue westwards, remaining on N568; after
passing the western end of the runway there is a sharp right turn; then
you'll see (on the left side of the road) a high brick building; turn left on
the little road just after the building; when staying along the building you
can see the radar antennas and the runway
- A third spot (where you'll need a ladder in order to take pics) : starting
from the previous spot, continue +/- 200 M on N568 until ther traffic
lights; turn right on N5 (Bruxelles / Gosselies); the first building you'll
see on the right of the road side is a carpet store ("Carpet Right"), with
a little road along the building (in fact it's the store access); while being
on this little road you can see the outer fence of the airport, with some
opportunities to take good pics of taxiing aircrafts when runway 07 is in
use.

Hope this will help you to have fun in CRL.
