To my opinion & knowledge, none of the journalists have asked on record to mr Etienne Davignon whether the name would be Sabena.

Such an obvious question ?!

This could indicate that they received the preliminary message that this specific question was off limits.

So .... draw your own conclusions.

SNBA will retire it's Avro fleet by 2010. This was confirmed to Luchtvaartnieuws.

Also two of the three A319 have since this week a new owner but this means not that those two are leaving now the fleet.

The long haul will increased by two or three more aircrafts. Discussions are going on with Airbus, Boeing and lease agencies.

Also the fleet of Virgin, B737-300 and B737-400, will fly until 2010.

How about flySN or alternatively SNfly?

Okay, not really very originial, but it would meet all requirements:

Simple and easy to remember/pronounce
Sounds really young and modern
Keeps the middle between a low cost and a classy name, just like the future airline itself
Well known already through advertising campaigns of SN
Rebranding could be done gradually for what concernes the SN part of the company
...

The URL is taken up by SNV, not only with .be and .com as extension, but with all possible national extensions, which could explain why nobody managed to stumble over the "new"' name by doing numerous wild guesses on the web to find a blocked URL which would suit the name of the newco, despite Mr Burrows explicitly telling us the name had already been chosen (and thus hopefully also registered if it were to be a really new one): maybe we have been searching it too far all the time?

Indeed would be a good name.

I am flying SN, or I am flying KLM 8) It's easy to remember. So a good name
