New DHL-Destinations?

Post by Freighter86 »

Hi guys,

some weeks ago I read a newspaper article about the new DHL-Hub in LEJ.
There was written that they will open an Eastern European Hub already this summer (year 2006!) with abut 20 flights per night.

Are there any rumours about the destinations and aircrafts/airlines which are going to serve these new flights in eastern Europe?
Someone said that it's gonna be completely new destinations?
True?

Thanks so far,

Wel,

Up till now nothing heard. The only change for the moment is that DPI (B757) is painted in Blue Dart colors and will be gone after the Eastern weekend. The DLR (A300) is back in Bru after its Bah-Sda duties. It is waiting to be registered again and then will start operate again in the European network. The second A300 that will be added is scheduled to arrive somewhere in June/July and comes from the Usa. Second B757 will be transferred to Blue Dart during this month/next month.
I heard some rumours in the office that in the near future 6 A300 will be added to the network due to increased capacity needed.

It was said that it will be destinations in Poland, Czech Rep., Ukraine and so on.
So it might be that local operators (like "Exin" in Poland) are operating these flights.

Which eastern european airlines are already operating for DHL and which airports in eastern Europe are already served by DHL and Partners?

Now I found out the new destinations:

Prague
Ostrava
Bergamo
East Midlands
Kiev

Are these completely new flights or are they replaced from other airports as Cologne der BRU?

Can anyone tell me which operator (EAT???) and which aircrafts are going to do this flights?

With "new" I meant if these flights to LEJ are new and added to the DHL timetable or if these flights are only shifted to LEJ from BRU or CGN.

Do you know the operators of these flights?

If I'm not mistaking are there around three flights a day for the moment, One or two flights are flights of a closed station in Germany I forgot the name...
Most of the flights are gona shift from CGN and BRU to LEJ...
The operator stays European Air Transport (EAT) but, becomes EAT Main station LEJ, while BRU is becoming an outstation in the future...
There are for the moment quite a lot of people hired for EAT LEJ, and there's even some LEJ mechanics in training at BRU...

Yeah, of course it's quite hard for all those people who will loose their job in BRU...but I think we all have to get used to this...
Did DHL offer the BRU employees to come with the hub to LEJ?

First of all I don't think anybody can be used to such a situation...you can maybe trying to accept, but used to it....nooooo....

And yes the EAT employees (the technicians) can go with DHL/EAT LEJ but the terms are very weak...
