I fully agree. What you say or do (even as staff yes) some people are always offended...(examples enough in real life)
Freedom of speech is necessary and sacred but everybodyhas to respect (and yes even listen) to the opinion of others...which some does not always do(as in the real world off course)
I always had a warning when a post was deleted( I didn't always agree with it but thats just the right a board's staff has...) so no problems concerning that...

Completely agree with you Avro, why don't people understand that they CAN'T say always what they want?
Is it because you are behind a screen that tou feel so strong? Just wonder if you could tell this kind of things in face of another visitor (french or dutchspeaking) of this forum?
Stop making big discussions or strives about stupid subject as ''freedom of speach'', the medias have well done their job...
Just behave on the forum as you would do in your job ...

In this topic: https://www.aviation24.be/postt15904.html I made a comment about French speaking people having difficulties with the English language. It was deleted.
From the point of view of a neutral English visitor to Belgium, I completely agree with SabenaRebirth. I am not saying this to cause offence to French speakers, I will say this purely from experience. When I have visited French-speaking areas of Belgium, I have encountered many people who have little or no understanding of English. I have never had this problem in the north of Belgium, that is a fact and nothing to do with racism or anything else.
And I am a strong believer in the right to freedom of speech. Here in the UK innocent people have been dragged through the courts purely and simply for voicing an opinion in a private meeting.

It was about time that some more severe control was done on certain postings. Apparently, certain people enjoy the feeling of offending others while sitting behind their screens. I was a very regular visitor of this website and decided to limit my visits a while ago for the very reason that certain members enjoy creating a hostile atmosphere (numerous examples in the flight simulation thread). Any innitiative limiting this offensive behaviour and attemting to restore the friendliness on this forum caries my full support.
I do hope sincerely that the atmosphere can be restored in it's original state as IMHO luchtzak.be is a treasure for any aviation enthousiast and it shouldn't be spammed by people just aiming at 'collecting as many posts as possible'...
I support the admins 100% and thank them for the time they put into this site...
Just look at A.net and you'll see what posts that make no sense do to a topic, and to the whole forum.
Looking at certain topics and postings on this website, I'd say that luchtzak.be is a very tolerant website.
That said, offensive political/racial/... remarks have never been allowed, and will never be allowed.
Not only the forum administrators, but also the users of luchtzak.be are responsible for this. If you are convinced that a posting should be deleted, just use the 'report this post' - button and the forum admins will have a look at that particular post.
So... are certain postings censored at luchtzak.be? Yes, and rightfully so.
You can find the appropriate forum rules in the website related forum of this website, and I suggest to all of you to have a look at those rules. People who do not agree with those rules are free to contact the crew of luchtzak.be.
Don't talk about which people you like and which you don't.
Don't talk about which airline manufacture you like and which you don't.
Don't talk about which political party you like and which you don't.
Don't talk about pro's and contra's regarding environment issues.
Don't talk about a administrator/moderator that is being over active, since here the administrator/moderator is always right.
That's why I am not so frequently here anymore.

Well, I made the exact same comment like you and my post was deleted.
I repeat: my comment was NOT offending towards French speaking people. I just said they have more 'difficulties' with the English language and that France and Wallonia are more monolingual than other parts of Europe. Is this offending? Is the truth offending?
And for the record: I'm not some Flemish extremist. I even have some family living in Wallonia! And when we meet, we speak... French

Nice! 3 very nice points here
1) very tolerant indeed to some members in particular
In the past there was a vivid discussion about "signatures". All pictures were banned (that's the forum rule about signatures). And now the signatures are back!? In the topics posted by even some crew-members!?!
2) censored postings? It looks more and more as the first element to censor a topic is the nick...
3) Looking through the rules? Ok! But even the crew! How can they let people respect the rules if even they don't follow them?

No, it was not me
I wasn't even thinking that
What I do know, is that there are some members that are always supporting the 'victim', just to give a negative impression of some (crew)members, but when there's someting positive said, you don't hear them.

There is nothing wrong with siding with someone who is picked on unfairly. For example, some members have been hassled by the "webteam" over their spelling and grammar, yet I see examples of posts made by the "webteam" which contain poor spelling and/or grammar, some of them in this very topic.

In fairness to the Luchtzak webteam, I must say that, as a french speaking person, I felt offended by what SabenaRebirth wrote, which was clearly meant to be unpleasant.
I was waiting for a reaction from the moderator; if there had not been one, I would have replied in kind.
