Ilyushin 76 being scrapped at Ostend in a weird way ...

Post by Andries »

Don't you think ut is weird when the put new titles on a wreck of an Ilyushin 76 en then start to scrap it ???
ex-UR-78821 of Dart is being scrapped at this time. It did however get RIS AIRLINES titles, scrapping is being done by RIS Sloopwerken ... A bit silly, don't you think ???

RIS AIRLINES ... (1)

RIS AIRLINES ... (2)

A few hours later, it didn'l look like an airplane anymore ...

SCRAPPED ... (1)

SCRAPPED ... (2)

I hope they pay attention when they begin scrapping the wings... In CHR they were doing this but the remaining fuel vapors (as you know quite dangerous) ignited during the scrapping operation with the crusher. Looks silly to call fireman for an aircraft which is written-off anyways...

*damn you, don't dare to touch my wings or I will kill myself!*

Something more CONSTRUCTIVE rather than DESTRUCTIVE should've been the fate of this downed bird.
