Re: Some ANA news:
This might be great news for (let's make a bet...) BRU and FCO ? 'Daily flights' maybe also means not only from TYO but also from KIX and/or NGO ? If they choose for BRU I guess also SNBA will play its role in a new code share.snowflake wrote:Next week a meeting takes place in BKK in which new slots will be decided for ANA. You never know, as within now and 1 year 2 extra daily flights between JP en EU will be installed. Notice also that ANA is making a lot of profit...

Some years ago, there were several flights from Nuremberg to Brussels ( SN and EW )-today the SN flights have gone .
Although not a huge market, there were quite a large number of connecting passengers from NUE to SN destinations in Africa,US,UK and even Asia ( Tokyo,Chennai..)
Are there considerations to re-connect to Nuremberg?

According to the link the flights are operated using a mix of B757s and DC-10s (I wasn't aware ET had DC-10s).

I heard that Corendon Airlines won't fly to Eskisehir this year, but Onur Air wants to take over this Brussels-Eskisehir route.
I believe the route was quite busy last year, because of Turkish workers living in Belgium with Eskisehir background. But there is no explanation from Corendon why they don't fly to ESK yet?
Has anyone heard anything?

Today an article in "La libre Belgique" about the new connection with China ( Hainan Airlines ) and possible new long-haul connections for BRU.
Here some interesting points from this article:
-There seems to be a market in Brussels for Asia.
-Within 5 years BRU can have the same amount of long haul flights as in 2000 ( Sabena period )
- Possible new destinations in Asia could be Tokyo and Bangkok
- Interesting new destiations in North America could be Miami and Boston ( for pax load )
- The new airline "SNBA-Virgin" can also lift up the number of long- haul destinations, especially Africa and North America.
-There is a boom in aviation industry, and BRU will also take advantage of that;BRU has some excellent advantages that other arports don't have ( rail and road network, still a lot of capacity...till 40 million pax/year, the "prestige" of the capital of Europe, ...)
Looks like the future ( especially us spotters ) is very bright again in BRU.
Let's hope our government will soon have a stable solution for the nightflights.

I've just noticed that SAS daughter Blue1 no longer competes with AY and SN on BRU-HEL.
When did they stop their services to BRU? I guess AY was too powerful.
Interesting to see how IB codeshares with AY on BRU-HEL (only) on the last rotation of the day.

I recently booked a return trip to HEL and Blue1 showed up as an option but as a connecting one via CPH, codesharing on SK's flights.
Anyway I had no interest in connecting and we were using 1 free ticket so had to use AY or SN to be together.
Used FlySN to make a booking and it turned out 60€ more expensive than using AY's own site for the exact same flights, so I booked on AY.

According to BIAC and Jet Airways its might possible that Jet Airways will land this year on Belgium soil.
They want to fly the route: Mumbai - Brussels. But due to lack of aircrafts and the problems with DOT it never happens.
Last weekend, Jet Airways announced to add some A330 and B777 to its fleet. When they received them, Brussels is the first city to fly to.
So, cross our fingers.

Actually, they already ordered A330s and 777s last year (10 of each), this would just be an add-on (again 10 of each). The first of their A330s is already doing test flights, BTW:Last weekend, Jet Airways announced to add some A330 and B777 to its fleet.

Biman Bangladesh is flying back to BRU since the end of April. They will certainly fly till 6 July. But this is only a tech. stop. No pax and cargo for BRU.
