Dear luchtzak-readers,
I myself could not believe this news, and had to re-read it several times until I could finally believe I was reading it for real...
According to www.crash-aerien.com, Boeing bought the Airbus Consortium for about 1800 billion dollars, payment spread over several years.
This transaction was kept top-secret until today, when both CEO-staff of Boeing and Airbus signed for the last agreements.
Most of the agreements were made in private-planes over the Atlantic specially introduced in this occasion.
It is unknown if this is good news for the staff working for Airbus, or for the aviation generally speaking: competition created improvements, and from a operator s point of view, a large choice of aircraft all having their specific specificities. From another point of view it might be interesting as concepts might be exchanged between the two Greats from a research point of view, improving future types until perfection.
It is also unknown weither projects such as the A380 or A350 will subsist this union or rather be literally scrapped.
