If food and accommodation were indeed excellent, the cabin crew was one of the worst I have seen on any airline. They were absolutely not interested in the passengers, only in their own chit-chat. During that long flight they never served drinks except during the meals. You had to summon them to get something to drink, or a blanket or a pillow.
Hello,

Sorry to hear that. Every flight in first class should just be perfect!

Indeed you can sometimes get a crew that totally ruins your flight. Just last month, I exprerienced such a flight (CDG-BOS) where one of the flight attnds working the C/Cl really tried to snob me because he was (much) older than me...
The "not so good side" of the famous French attitude...
Well he first tried to move me to another seat to accomodate a non-rev pax... I refused.
He then tried to force me to drink white wine with my langouste (because he didn't carry red wine at that time) "teaching" me what to drink with what!
Well, if I want to drink red wine or bourbon with lobster, I get it. No discussion.
Too bad I finally had to complain to the CSD ("Chef de Cabine Principal" as they're called with AirFrance)

But in my experience, that remains the exception.
And as you noticed, food and wine are just proud ambassadors of the country best known for its cuisine and savoir vivre... true delight!

For more info on their new C and F/Cl classes, check out this nice little info :

You know I am not totally nuts from the big Airbus planes but the A340-600 from Virgin Atlantic was in Airliner World some months ago.......wooowwww what a monster so big. It looks very nice but after my A340 experience with Iberia (see airline experience) I am not so convinced about their comfortable atitude.

Now something else here, can we please please stop picking on eachother??? This is a very nice forum and I hope it will be that way. If you don't like the Belgium aviation forums then don't visit them, it is so easy, nobody is forcing you. We are all aviation nuts here, a Boeing is a nice airplane and so is a Airbus. Ofcourse everybody has his own favorit and that's good, otherwise there was only one kind of airplane flying around and the sky was getting very boring.
So please, show some respect to the other members and their favorit airplanes, don't fight because there are fights enough already everywhere. I respect my Belgian collegues very much and I hope they respect me the same. Besides that show respect especially to Bart as the owner and builder from this great forum, show respect for the moderators and last nut not least show me some respect ;)

Just kidding you ofcourse, just take care of what you say and in what kind of way you respond, okay???
Let's have fun on Luchtzak and share all aviation info with eachother, I count on you all my dear friends (male and femal ;) )

Greetz,

Thanks for your words of wisdom, Erwin. That is the only way to keep Luchtzak as a place that every aviation buff will enjoy.

I applaud both Erwin and Andre - I agree with every word you've written.

This is a great forum, don't let a couple of characters ruin it for everyone else!

Hi,

Well that's a good thing that Frederic :!: warn :!: all those peoples. But now let's see wait and see if they continues their "things"...And let's forgive them and try to have a new relation with them. It could arrange everything with everybody ? isn't it ? Now you have to point of view of a very patient man but it could be different with other peoples...

Let's simply turn the page...

To get back on track with the A330, Emirates are introducing extra flights into Birmingham next year, which will be operated by A330-200. Emirates have also just introduced flights to Brisbane and Auckland from Dubai, but I don't know whether or not these are operated by A330.

The type is also taking over from the DC10 as the long haul aircraft of choice for British charter operators. Both MyTravel and Monarch operate the type (certainly from Manchester, I don't know about Gatwick and other airports, I'm just going on what I have seen myself).

Your profile says "flight attendant". In the airport bus?
I just love that comment!! :thumbsup2:

I once read that the A340 was the least popular among crews owing to its very narrow aisle (for a wide body type).

But I would have thought a "flight attendant" who supposedly worked for VLM and Qantas would have very little experience of the A330 from a crew point of view!!?
