Bartjuh, so it seems we are collegues
Well not for long anymore since my department will leave completely
Anything available with E&M???
Please let me know and I agree with your Boeing statement.
I do like the A318 (just to see) since it is such a little airplane and in Frontier livery it looks great.
I always had more feeling with the smaller airplanes then the big boys, show me a A318, F70 or a 717 and I am totally excited
Greetz,
Erwin (XU)

Not only Air France, but many other airlines call their Business Class by another name: Marco Polo class, BusinessFirst, etc.Lien wrote:Why can't Air France just call it 'Business class' like everybody ?
But I agree with you that it would be simpler if everyone called it simply Business Class.

"Saga" is actually an Icelandic word which has been adopted into the English language. It relates to the historic stories which were told orally in Iceland since the Settlement of the country (which started in 874AD), and were written down from around 1200 onwards.
Many foreign airlines give their Business Class names which have been adopted into English - Marco Polo for example.
Air New Zealand make much about the "koru", which is Maori and is the name of the symbol on the airline's aircraft tails. That is one example of the use of a word which has not been adopted into English.

Hum hum what happened to you ? Did you past a bad night or what ? 8Obartjuh wrote:Hey Guy`s,
I have some hints for you, when you follow this hints, they will not close youre ( realy nice ) Topic:
Never mention the name Boeing, talk only about the worlds leading aircraft designer Airbus.
Do not chit chat on this topic, never say good night to somebody you talked the whole day with, its gently, but they don`t like that over here.
When you have a topic about 1 type off plane, like a330-200/300 or B777, do not talk ONLY ABOUT THIS TYPEit`s not done!
Just respect the topic of the author that's all. If you want to chat there is the Chat Box !

I really wish this would stop. I have posted replies on topics relating to both the Airbus and the 777.
The original 777 topic was closed because it became too long and another one was started up.
If people wish to talk about the A330 then why shouldn't they?
All of a sudden this great forum has become a place where you are either "Boeing" or "Airbus" (I am neither, if a topic interests me then I will reply to it). If you disagree with the 777 fans then you have it in for them, if you start a thread about Airbus then you are anti-Boeing and again have it in for the 777 fans. If you say anything about threads going off topic then, surprise surprise you obviously have it in for the resident 777 fans.
The 777 discussion started in the summer, this aircraft has been discussed by just about everyone on this forum without incident, then come early October all this side taking and division has sprung up on here.
Can we please stop all this divisive rubbish and please get back to what we were like before early October???!!

Hello,SierraFoxtrotMike wrote:Here is a view of the LARGE Business class of SNBA !Also with a personal TV ofcourse !
Here are some Business classes and First classes from an other airline (Air France) to compare. The Business class of SNBA looks more brider than the First and Business class of Air France ...
Even the colors on Air France looks very sad...Give me your remarks !
Regards
First I'd like to remind you that SNBA's business class (or should I say Birdy's?) is still the old Sabena cabin... No major changes so far...
The same was true for the ill-fated VG/Delsey...
About Air France, I'm surprised you didn't mention the fact they're currently revamping ALL three classes of service on their long haul fleet.
With 92 wide bodied AC in use this winter season, it might take some time...
The new business class finally offers flat beds! (I can't wait...)
And they've already had VOD entertainment (video on demand, where YOU choose when you want to watch a movie, news... not the SN system that keeps you waiting up to two hours) and "eat what you want when you want" menus for some time now...
You can read a little about it here:
http://www.airfrance.com/double6/home.n ... enDocument

Too bad they don't have (yet?) a fancy Virgin Atlantic/Emirates style presentation...
But AirFrance still offers the best F and C/Cl food and IMHO the best groomed, most stylish cabin crew.
You step on board and you feel in France
Believe me, I already racked up a staggering 150,000 miles with them this year, so I've had plenty of time to judge their service!

You probably know better. I flew Air France only once on a long-haul trip: Paris-Tokyo, in First Class (I was accompanying a Director of my company).vflies wrote:But AirFrance still offers the best F and C/Cl food and IMHO the best groomed, most stylish cabin crew.
If food and accommodation were indeed excellent, the cabin crew was one of the worst I have seen on any airline. They were absolutely not interested in the passengers, only in their own chit-chat. During that long flight they never served drinks except during the meals. You had to summon them to get something to drink, or a blanket or a pillow.
But sorry to be off topic: it was a B747-400, not an A330.

I once flew in an Airbus of Air France, and I found the cabin crew to be okay, quite friendly, but the interior of the aircraft was quite grubby, I don't know when the seats had last been cleaned.
If Sabena (and later VG/Delsey) had not gone bankrupt, then my next trip to America would have been on a larger Airbus, as we had intended to fly to America via Brussels.
The nicest livery I ever saw on a larger Airbus was the last Sabena one, the dark blue of the livery looked superb on the engine cowlings, and then there was the little picture on the outside of the winglet.
When I was at Manchester back in June I managed to get some superb video footage of an A330 of Monarch Airlines taxying from the terminal, and then taking off. It was a contrast to the previous A330 footage I had taken, which showed a bmi example as it arrived in Manchester from America. From what I have heard on other forums, the A330 was the nicer aircraft to travel in, as the A340 is often described as too narrow.
