Because of its size, would it need a bigger more powerful engine??

Which by the way ran to 80,500 lb of thrust last week in only its second run. And ahead of schedule.

Gives you a common core for all 787, A350 and 747-8.

Now that's what we call commonality.

GE90 was floated as an idea by Randy in his blog. But just too darn much thrust! Oh well. We can't power everything.

How dare you make such statements, there's no such thing as "too much thrust". :wink: It just makes the plane feel more like a rocket. :D

There are rumours circulating in the Industry that a few Middle East carriers have already entered final negotiations for up to 100 of the -10 models, and may be powered by Rolls Royce.
