BRU 27/03/2006

Post by Vonsmalhausen »

Sky Europe beginning operations today at BRU, i went do some spotting
to bad i missed the arrival due to the traffic  it took me 1 1/2 hour to get to BRU, normally it's 20-25 minutes
having missed the arrival, i went to Abelag to shoot here at T.O. (road works over there are finished b.t.w. :D ) so here's the first departure of Sky Europe from BRU :P

Image

meanwhile i could take Eastern and Air Wales at 25L

Image

Image

to bad i read Air Wales is going to stop with PAX flights 8O  , so the return of the Red Dragon to BRU was short lived
Turkish came with this 738 with beautiful tulip

Image

and then there's OO-VEX :D after the winglets, now there's a sticker on it with 6 VEX employes who form in "sign language" the proverb : "Begrip is de bakermat van de beschaving" ( sorry, not shure on how to translate it in English  , but i'm shure somebody over here will  )

Image

weather not beïng stable, i left round 15 hrs

Nice shots Vonsmal.
Looks like the weather in BRU was good today despite all the expected rain.

Bye the way, since when is Eastern Flying was the Jetstream to BRU. Thought they used the S2000 on their route to BRU.

Greetings,
Yvo

The BIAC timetable shows this : J41
So they will use this summer a Jetstream.

The SOU-BRU service was downgraded to a JS41 as from the start of the summer schedule. So today should have been the first flight into BRU with JS41 equipment.

As Eastern Airways is also due to take over the CWL-BRU service from Air Wales at the end of next month, we can expect a second daily Eastern JS41 into BRU from that moment on.

Re: Eastern Airways ops at BRU:
The route was not "downgraded" to a J41 as someone said: for the summer, a third daily flight was added! (sta around 4pm, std around 5pm) so: three daily J41s. From the second half of April, 2 daily J41s to Cardiff on top of this! (Eastern is reportedly very happy with the Brussels flights!)

I see your point. But I meant that the seats on one single flight are down from 50 (SB20) to 29 (JS41), resulting in smaller aircraft operating the route. So for us spotters, the route (by which I mean the aircraft size) is downgraded.
