DUB 01/03/2006

Post by Bruspotter »

Hello

Yesterday 01/03/2006 me and Tim De Meijer went to Dublin.
We went be plane and came back at night. It was a cold day with wind between 30-50km/h and some scattered clouds providing some shadows from time to time.

(scroll down for the LOG)

Day report:

We departed home (Pulle) at 05:00 for Charleroi Gosselies airport.
We arrived 07:00 and we could check in a half hour later , checking in numbers 007 (Tim) and 008 (Me) , wich means we SHOULD have received boarding priority. But when arrived at the boarding desk (after a looong time of waiting)children with their parents (of course) could enter first , but after than , they let the left row in first , wile we stood RIGHT IN FRONT of the desk as first , WITH priority boarding charts!!! We even where in the top 10 first visitors! Anyway , when on the plane it was OK. We could take a seat somewhere seat 23 E & F or something like that. So wich means we where seated right behind the right wing (seen from IN the plane). We took off on time around 09:45LT as FR 043 (Ryanair B737-8AS EI-DCG) While cruising we passed a snowed BRU. We also could see something what might be the renewed shiny atomium. Then we disappeared above the clouds for a wile , to enter a open North Sea so we could see the ships cruising. When entered England some wide scattered clouds appeared. We could see 3 airfields , among them one that might be Farnboroug...?
Unfortunately for my dear friend Tim the stewardesses weren't aloud to pose for the picture :D.10Minutes before landing we had to declare (a small) medical emergency. The crew immediately had to intervence by admitting oxygen out of a bottle to the passenger.Because of the immediately and professional intervence of the crew nothing went wrong. We could land safely without a delay and the paramedics could take the passenger safely offboard. Police held a watching eye. When we disembarked on the remote Ryanair stands at Dublin Collinstown we already saw the Ryanair B737-800WL logojet EI-CSW. We entered the airport building , and passed trough the passport control without any problems (of course).
We first went for a breakfast and then we went for some action. We walked to RWY 28. The fence was already build from 2 sides TO the spotting place , right in front of the spotting place they where still busy with replacing the fence. So from next week it's done there. You will need a small ladder to spot than. Although we had nice light and a beautiful view. In the evening we went back with Ryanair B737-800 EI-DCX as FR 048 we left DUB at 20:10LT on time (RWY 28 via E1 )and Unfortunately took a hard RIGHT bank instead of a turn to right like all the other planes , so we could not see the airport anymore from our side of the plane. We even had to leave 4 rows empty starting from the backside of the plane. Reserved for ghosts :D haha...probably for the weight and balance (saving fuel) of the plane since it wasn't a full plane.
While overflying the Belgian coast I meant to have seen a plane landing at EBOS around 22:07LT (ANYONE TO CONFIRM??).
We arrived CRL on visual approach. We took a heavy right bank so I could see the plane turning towhorts the runway trough the mist. Really nice. We landed CRL 22:23 about 20min earlier than expected. The end of a long day.

I might go to Dublin once too, this certainly inspires me.

And you even managed to prove Ryanair isn't a bad airline at all, so i might trie them in the future aswell
