OO-TUC 767-300ER delayed
Moderator: Latest news team
Once again, Jetair / Jetairfly / TUB doesn't care too much about it's clients: at this very moment, the incoming flight from Mexico is announced as delayed till 08h55 Saturday morning, while the departing flight to the Dominican still is announced as normal departure at 09h15.
When will TUB announce that the Dom-flight is delayed till 10h45? Too late anyway for most pax, who will all check-in around 07h15 a.m., to find out they could have slept 2 more hours.
http://www.biac.be/arrivals :
arrivals 10/12 Varadero via Cancun TUB8502 B767-300
07:10 scheduled
08:55 delayed
www.biac.be/departures :
departures 10/12 Puerto Plata via Punta Cana TUB8601 B767-300
09:15 scheduled
(if the Dominican is operated by another 763, I apologise to TUB)

There's a Brussels-Brussels announced on www.biac.be/arrivals today:
TUB8103, 763, expected 07:40 and arrived 08:40
However, the TUB-flight to Montego Bay via Punta Cana is only mentionned once on www.biac.be/departures, which means the plane should be well on his way
departure TUB8103, Montego Bay via Punta Cana, 763:
06:05 scheduled
07:24 departed
Was there a return to the gate after push back?

And when the aircraft returned the next day and all pax were on board (with ofcourse a delay of at least 2.5 hours) they did an engine test at the gate (with noseloader attached, was quite a sight because of the wet tarmac) and afterwards they started working at that engine again for 20 minutes. Pax were onboard during this "operation" but finally left for Cuba.Yes, technical on engine number 2. Problem was resolved in a short time.

In my humble opinion Jetair is doing what it's supposed to do. Atleast it's not walking the tin line between safety and profit.
Pax should be grateful they don't send them up with an aircraft that hardly meets the minimum.
I do understand that a delay is a bad beginning of your vacation and can put down the moral of the pax BUT a return or technical stop in another airport isn't going to do any good either.
To me it's pretty simple, if an aircraft doesn't meet the minimum it's not going up, and even if it does, it's still the captains call.
I can understand the point some are making for a replacement and/or D-check and your probably right, it might do good but we are NOT Jetairs accountants and know nothing about the figures that Jetair is having.

What if you have a 45 minutes delay in LHR (coming in from somewhere else), with "the world's favourite airline" on wich you have to catch a connection to BRU (as last flight of the day leaving around 21.00LT)? I guess "those 45 minutes" do make a difference.Sabena_690 wrote:What exactly is the importance of 45 minutes delay?ehamspotter wrote:Hello;

She must arrive @ 12:55(correct if i'm wrong) and she arrived @13:40/50.

Frederic, I know what you mean, but please... remain a little bit on-topic (as I have to do all the time).
