Not a typo. Tried hard to makee sure when I read it that it was O and not D. However, now I cannot see anywhere that O has been delivered. So maybe it was D. Can you confirm?

Yes PH-BQD. PH-BQO doesn't exist (yet).

Off-topic: I thought the new 777's of KLM would be registered as PH-BQM and PH-BQN.

My db has M and N as the next ones. Although search on Google O now has a msn.

Looking back at my notes. I saw D in the morning on stand. But I noted O/D land inthe afternoon!!!! Are they using their 777's on short haul flights???

Probably D that I saw but it really did look like a O.

3 possibilities:
- test flight (wich isn't routine with those machines I think)
- short haul flight, as you say
- return after departure (emergency?)

Maybe I can give some more information later on this evening.

PH-BQL is the latest 777 for KLM. Got this info from a 777 production list :

Next are :

34712/559 - 777-206ER - PH-BQM (KLM)
32720/561 - 777-206ER - PH-BQN (KLM)
35295 - 777-206ER - PH-BQO (KLM)
32721 - 777-206ER - PH-BQP (KLM)
35671 - 777-206ER - PH-BQR (KLM)


Between PH-BQL and PH-BQM were 6 other 777's.
Between PH-BQM and PH-BQN was only 1 other 777.
So if you know the productionrate of the 777, you can calculate when these will be ready and come into service.

The Last 3 ; O, P and R do not yet have a serial number assigned, meaning they do not have a slot yet in the 777 production-line.

Hope this takes away the confusion !

Is indeed the latest KLM B777 but this one is still at the Boeing factory.

Bit far away, but newest KLM B777 PH-BQL will be delivered to KLM on 28th February and arrive at Schiphol on 1st March. Earlier reports stated this as 22nd February but some delay caused this later delivery.

I took a picture of PH-BQL at Schiphol 9th March. Sorry - not digital....
When I did a KLM stewardess came to me and said that "they" do not like that photos are taken at the airport. I told her, that I have not noticed any signs that forbids it. I was so frustrated that I walked strait to the security office and they told me that only passenger security checks are not allowed to be photographed. But that stewardess really believed on what she was saying. She told me that she was told not to take photos when she did...
