Jat-future destinations
Which destinations should jat open in the future if they survive? i think that it would be good that the should fly to india, ethiopia, china and japan after expanding its network in the balkans and northamerica.
Just keep on dreaming mister!
You are suggesting that Jat expand their network after a 20 million
Euro operating loss?
Thats a "cruel joke !"
Jat is losing $2 million USD a month and thats a heavy loss for a
small carrier who has relatively "small labour costs".
Unless Jat restructures and reduces its staff by 50%,
i cannot see Jat making a profit!
Jats fleet of B733s, ATR 72s and with the introduction of the EMB 170 jet
is just the wrong combination!
Its proposed North American venture with a leased aircraft such as
the B.767/200 is nothing more than a waste of money!
The only reason Jat is in this position today is due to poor management!

Jat had losses last year due to strikes. If you actually knew anything about Jat you would know that this January (2006) Jat had a profit and a 30% rise in passengers on international flights and 10% rise on domestic flights. Just because you hate my country and the people in it doesn’t give you the right to make up stuff.
They are all your words.... not myn!
I have many friends from your country mister!
You cannot accept the fact that Jat is in a major financial crises!
Even a company spokesman stated that the Jat will close
in the near future if these losses continue!
I cannot see Jat making a profit this year, despite your optimism!
You cannot accept the fact that your carrier is a failing business!
I can say what I want, just the same as you can!

As i wrote world if jat survives it would nice if they expanded. of course they have problems maybe a turnaround will be achieved next year but when the government is behind the company it can take big losses after all and still expanding.so if i´m dreaming or not world just let it be we do not want this topic into personal misbehaviour or politics between contries if possible. And yes you can say whatever you want of course if it brings something good/constructive. World -tell me your vision of an saviorpackage for jat -do you see any light in the bratsvo and jedinstvo-tunnel

I know Jat is in a financial crisis at the moment and I’m not denying that. I’m just giving you official results for Jannuary. And he didn’t ask you give your opinion about jat but give your opinion about future destinations. Jat survived tougher times then his. Have you actually heard of an airline surviving without having any destinations for 8 years?world wrote:They are all your words.... not myn!

lol that is what happened in Baghdad a couple of months ago.regi wrote:I remember many years ago a dark dusted sign of Yugoslavian Airlines still attached on a building on Surawong/Rama4 Road, Bangkok. If it is still there, they can clean it up again and announce their return to BKK.
Well, sort of.

Galemos4, yes you are correct. JAT had had strikes from November 2004 untill April 2005. JAT had lost destinations, flight numbers and had to re-assure the passengers that the airline is now ok to fly and that their will be no more cancellations.
Banja Luka and Trieste are a couple of examples of lost destinations.
yes, JAT has had an increase in passenger numbers and has made a profit for January.
And yes, IF the new routes to JFK and YYZ go successful, then ORD will be next, and probably as early as October this year i have read!!!!
Mumbai and Calcutta were once served by JAT. along with KHI, and yes BKK and KUL too, but time will tell when those routes will re-start.
From what i know of, JAT also have a office in MEL, but i am sure there is one in SYD, and i think in PEK too.

Yes Jat has offices in Beijing, Melbourne and Sydney. Once in the good old days there was an office in Perth as well. I don’t think Calcutta is needed – there are no passengers for that.JAT_boy_BEG wrote:Galemos4, yes you are correct. JAT had had strikes from November 2004 untill April 2005. probably, but it was once a JAT destination.
ORD is deffinately needed, along with MEL and SYD. Maybe for the European winter, charters can be made out to Mauritius, Thaildan, Sri Lanka, maybe Maldives. I am sure it will be popular with the Serbian and Croatians tourists wanting to escape the European winter. Just a suggestion.

ORD, MEL or SYD are OK, but these winter charters are not possible at all, because there is very little number of people who could afford winter holiday at these destinations from both countries. Such charter destinations are having very big problems in countries like Hungary, Czechia or Poland with much bigger life standard then Croatia or Serbia have.JAT_boy_BEG wrote:probably, but it was once a JAT destination.

is Khartoum worth opening as Aviogenex has had a couple charters down there. I see on the Belgrade Airport website on JAT flights to Nigeria (eg JU200 was one of the flights) that don't return?!?! the JU200 went via Tripoli.
