I can't see KLM taking all of AF's Fokkers, since KLM doesn't have an other fleet type to give to AF...

I would have to agree with Horsepower: if there are movements, it's because AFregional gets new planes and doesn't need the Fokkers anymore. That would be 2007-2008 at best.

Almost correct, Régional has 5 F70's wich could be transefered to KLM Cityhopper. F50's from any "Air France Regional" carrier are not on the wanted list.
However besides the 5 F70's from Régional there are 16 more F70's with other "Air France Regional" carriers which could be interesting to transfer to KLM Cityhopper also.
There is a side note, as far as I know they want to fly the F70/100's until 2010 and I am not sure if they are ready to take the hassle for "just" 4 years.

According to the last update by Boeing in 2005, they added a new order from KLM: 1 B737 and 3 B777

... and one B737-700 for Transavia also.

The 6 E-190LR ordered last summer will replace the 6 leased Saab 2000. In fact, one of them has been already replaced by an ex-CCM F100. so, if firmed, the 6 E-190LR on option could eventualy replace the F70 (meaning Régional momentarily leaves the 70-80 seats sector...). If happening, it won't be before end of 2008 at best...

Actually, KLMC started replacing leased F50 with F100.

KLM Cityhopper
F50
On finance lease:......6
On operating lease:..2

KLM Cityhopper UK
F50
On operating lease:..6

As you can see, none of the F50s are company owned. I know some were leased from Denim Air. I Don't know about the others...

Only one Denim F50 is flying for KLC and also that will finish soon when the "new" F100's come in.

2010 for the F100 ?

Post by flyingblueboy »

oh dear, we gonna see this Fokker around for quite a bit then..

unless they order something, it won't be ready...

good at least the are replacing the old 737x's

KLM taking second hand FXXX, they are profitable, do they need to look at the bottom of the barrel... is it there the good wine ?

i read there are no plan to replace the Fxxx fleet... infact they are taking all the ones they can find around...

They are missing so much the BAE 146 bought from ryanair after they sold Buzz... (wonder who made the deal there?)

At least, I know that G-UKAC and G-UKID are still owned by KLM UK and are leased to Cityjet as EI-DEW and EI-DEX respectively.

Bae 146

Post by flyingblueboy »

I read Bae are quite expensive to run, in terms of fuel consumption, so that is why ryan got rid of...

And at Buzz time oil was cheaper...

Also having different types in the fleet is not their goal.

KLM UK doesn't exist anymore, they are now all under KLM Cityhopper brand!

Some corrections here:
In fact, these aircraft were not owned by KLM UK but leased. They were then sub-leased to WX untill the lease date expires. So, it is not impossible they're now leased directly to WX.

Till recently, KLM UK still existed, even if all aircraft were in KLMC livery.

Klm Uk

Post by flyingblueboy »

Tnx hourse..

Put it this way... they tried a LCC, with Buzz, they didn't have it right and eventually they sold it...(to FR) probably to stop the emorragy of money they were having...

Someone else sold it's own as well, and made good money (read BA's GO to EZ)...

Now others are thinking to have a LCC under them (IB is Thinking, LH, we all heard about BA Connect, Alitalia tried to buy Volareweb, so)..

Wish Klm UK still existed with a buzzing buzz.. their in flight magazine was nice

KLM owns Transavia, which is part charter part LCC.
