Air Maroc to get blended winglets for its Boeing 737 fleet

Post by killerwhale65 »

Royal Air Maroc has bought 29 pairs of blended winglets. They will be fitted on both the airlines current 737's as well as on aircraft that are yet to be delivered.
Air Maroc has decided for this purchase after the temporary use of 1 737-800 with winglets. The blended winglets reduce fuel consumption by up to 5%. This makes that the investment can be repaid within 3 years.

Also this was from Luchtvaartnieuws

It seems we get two sites in one lately. On Luchtvaartnieuws they have also their own forum to discuss their topics. But it's not so good like this one.

Just my comment on what I see the last couple of days.

So we will see more and more blended winglets in BRU in the future.

I really like the view of a big blended winglet

Sorry forgot to mention the source. Thanks for mentioning. Post edited!
The problem (if you can call it this way) is that only Luchtvaartnieuws seems to be working from Saturday - Monday. Other interesting sites seem to take a break then.

Looks like blended wingleted 737's really have an advantage in take off performance and fuel consumption. When should an operator choose between wingleted or non-wingleted aircraft :?: I mean, from what I've read, all 737's should have winglets installed. Does it makes a big difference in cost :?: :| Hope I don't seem too ignorant by making this questions.
On the other side, I like the looks of the blended winglets better. :D
