As far as I can remember (back in the sixties) there has always been a Brussels-Montreal flight served more or less daily...
At the time the route was operated by Sabena and Air Canada.
I feel miserable seeing this empty slot today in Brussels airport since the traffic demand has never stopped growing ...

I find this absolutely silly. Will probably cost 10 times as much then to buy 10 or 20 seats on the direct train link between BRU and CDG! Will there also be some freight carried from Addis-Abbeba with destination Belgium? That might make more sense...

100% true, but this topic is more specific and exists already a long time.Atlantis wrote:This topic is already started in https://www.aviation24.be/postt14279.html

At first I was also slightly surprised , and this link being probably dependant on substantial transit pax, I don't see any agreement with sn to redistribute traffic. Maybe other scenarii are being studied with other airlines? But on the other hand BRU offers very good road connections and rail should help feed BRU as well as CDG...Vinnie-Winnie wrote:I find this absolutely silly. I expect however the flight to be eventually decoupled from CDG in a forseeable future..
What was the problem? I didn't have read that article.Vinnie-Winnie wrote:Read in this topic which is now locked!bxleu wrote:Read on today's "L'Echo" that Ethiopian Airlines is considering flying from Addis Ababa to Brussels - via Paris - from March/April 2006. I don't think we can expect soon AC in Belgium.Flying-Belgian wrote:BTW, what about that rumour of 1-2 years ago about AC's possible move to BRU ?
There were talks of 767 in BRU.
Or is it LH that is still blocking a potential new Star carrier with long-haul projects ?? I know they already block NH and TG...
