Spotting on soundwall of EBBR will be over & out

Post by Skystef »

Hi all,

some more sad news for the photographers among us: BIAC has put a fence around this wall and will be very soon closed on every corner.

Alternative spots are: https://www.aviation24.be/article50.html

Why did BIAC decide to close off that area?

Due to... ?
- dangerous traffic situations (wild car parking, traffic slowing down...)
- hinder for the local residents
- accidents on the wall itself
- international security measures
- ...

Sad news indeed !! Such a good spot is dissapearing..... :(

I had several new angles I wanted to try out from that particular spot. But I suppose they will stay in my mind for ever .......

But I suppose it was quite dangerous to let people stand on the wall. They can't take the risk of letting someone fall of that wall and be injured or die can they ?

Sad news, but that decision isn't surprising.

Perhaps we can all do a small, peaceful demonstration? Just to let Biac know that we don't mean any harm, we just want to exercise our hobby?

I don't mean that they have to let the soundwall open, I'd just appreciate it if they would give us some nice places to go spotting?

grtz,

stroman

Did BIAC close this spot because it learned about it in Luchtzak? :)

I just was at 25R, when I saw those iron stakes I was very very very disappointed in BIAC  Do they realy believe that spotting is something evil that has to be exterminated or what??? What's next, closing our littlee spotting place at 25L....

Don't you know they hate spotters. And we will never get a spottersplace like at Schiphol.

The same at CDG, there it's forbidden to take pictures. It seems that a planespotter is an illegal activity.

Maybe biac could let spotter register thereself.
Give them a badge like staff (Offcourse this would cost the spotter some 52 euro I think or even more) . So they are screened by the "staatsveiligheid" and that biac know that they are honest spotter and not al qaeda members.

Wouldn't this be a good idea? This way they can control the spotting. And spotters can continue there hobby. A Compomise, isn't Belgium famous for that !!

I don't know stevie ... It's difficult to explain that we don't harm anyone with planespotting !!!

Does anyone has some Ideas ?
for me "The Wall" is the best place in BRU ...
Look @ DUS only a few euros for a day !!! You have to see how many people come to the place...

I went really angry When heard that "the wall" was closed !!!
so please guys we must do something !!!

I like your idee SN_fan :!: :!: maybe is that the best,
