Nope, they moved years ago their day flights to the late-evening flight.

At this moment still no news about 9W. Amadeus give no flights till October this year.

Could it be that they still have problems to start up flights to EWR due to the juridical case?

It sounds very strange to me because a "delegation" visited last year BRU to give some instructions when the first flight will arrive.

I was referring to the trademission last year to China, Japan etc. BIAC was trying to bring a Japanese carrier this year to BRU. But I think it won't be for this year. But I'm still wondering what the decision will be of Hainan.

About 9W, they will or they have - I don't know the situation at this moment - took over Air Sahara. With this move they can start up earlier the new route to EWR via BRU.

I don't know if this has already been mentioned but Hewa Bora will begin to use a leased B767-200ER on its services from Kinshasa to Brussels replacing the normal Lockheed Tristar, which will be redeployed on a Kinshasa-Nairobi-Dubai rotation...

I am looking forward to seeing SouthAfrican Airlines in BRU one of these days.
The market is there .
And what about AirVietnam opening a link from HoChiMinCity via Bangkok?
I believe it could also be successful, why not both in coop with SN?

Of course a japanese and a chinese link is cruelly lacking as everybody s aware...
Meanwhile I would support an agreement between SN and AY for N-E Asia trafic , the first leg to HEL woud then be operated by SN.
I remember this being already suggested by one of you some times ago on this forum but with few echos, wonder why...
And the arrival of JetAirways in bru rejoices me.
What about latin america ?

Latin America via Madrid with Iberia or Air Madrid.
Didn't SNBA signed an agreement with Air Madrid for feeder flights ?
And Iberia has a lot of daily flights to Latin America.

I think there are more important markets for the moment , like you mentioned sn-remember.

According to Jetair they will continue with their B767-300 to the Caraïbes. If the aircraft will have some technical problems they have, or working on, a back up airplane. But I don't know if they have contact with an airline to use one of their aircrafts. Maybe a member of this forum is working at flight ops and can tell us more.

About flights to Vietnam. I think that's a question for TO. They organise holidays to that country, but with flights from FRA I think. Why not use an own plane or like TC with Martinair. And with the flights to Vietnam they could make a stop at Bangkok like you mentioned. I don't think we could expect a vietnamese carrier at BRU. Years ago we had a regular visitor at BRU: Vietnam Airlines. But I don't know why they suspend their flights to BRU.

I think we could rather expect a Japanese or chinese carrier. But most of the big carriers are presenting their summer schedule and for so far no BRU in their schedule. So, it could be that we can expect again a boring year at BRU.

I also thought that Vietnam Airlines had a problem of shortage of planes (for longhaul operations at least) and even if they would have them, I think there are other priorities for them.

(But I admid that it would be lovely to see them here in BRU ... :D)

Correct, they could not start ops to the US this year due to lack of long haul aircrafts. They don't find them on the leasing market.

In that way they could not reach their figures of this year.

They ordered some B787 but those aircrafts will be delivered in 2009.

TG is looking to open some new destinations in Europe. Germany, The Netherlands, The UK, Hungary are possible candidates to receive the B777 of TG.

I assume we cannot hope for that beautiful bird. That bird was leaving BRU years ago.

BIAC should try by all means to get TG (and others) back at BRU. Why not a code share with SNBA ? :idea:

Bru did a very good job last year. As predicted the total pax number comes to 16.200.000 pax and the total cargo volume on 702.000 tons. That's a record for BRU (cargo).

The future is bright this year for Brucargo and I assume pax also, specially with the flights of Abu Dhabi and Toronto.

But there is still a problem for all the companies around Zaventem. We need very urgent a decision about the airport. What can we expect, can we expand, etc? Approx. 6 companies on 10 are holding the investments due to a lack of communication of the government. If it's negative, a lot of companies wants to move were they can deploy their business.

This includes also existing airlines on BRU, future airlines who want to come but due to the noise restrictions hold on the boat.

The first minister who says "Zaventem you receive a green card to expand" is a hero. All the rest is thinking about the elections of this year and next year. And that's the problem, almost every year we have an election and nobody wants to take risks.

Jet Airways wants to start with the route Delhi - Newark via Brussels this summer. This because they took over Air Sahara and received by this enough airplanes.

And it don't stop. If it's true Ethiopian Airlines start really soon ops between Brussels and Addis Abeba with a B767-300.
The redactie of Travel Magazine has received this news from a very good source. They want to fly three times a week between the two cities.

I hope this is true. :lol:

I hope we will see a new A330 or even a B777 at BRU now that JetAirways will be coming next summer, it will be an interesting summer IMO :P
