Eric,
Goodevening.
Looks indeed a good airport to spot planes but what about photograph-opportunities ? From what I heard, it is not a simple airport for taking pictures of aircraft in good conditions. Or am I wrong ?

Thanks for the LOG, Eric!

Were you able to stay airside for spotting, before you had to go back landside to check-in for the return?

From which location did you spot?

Thanks for the info!

Regards
Frederic

Hey,

I had a litte map of STN airport. But I don't know how to post it. But when you send your email to me via a private message it wil be oke.

So STN airport has only 1 runway. 05-23. Most of the time they land and take off on 23, like as in BRU (25R) en AMS (24). But I was unlucky, the wind was coming from the east so landings on 05. To bad because I could take any picture in landing. Only out of the plane and from a place near the terminal. (When you are coming out of the terminal going to the left and in at the and you could see a part of the Runway and some gates from there you could take some pictures or read numbers very well.)

But when they land on 23 you could make nice pictures. -->

But I will post evenso some pictures that I have take out of the G-EZEG or out of the gate.

I visited STN last summer. It's a very good place to spot Ryanair, but after a few hours you will get bored (well, I did  ). You can either go to the left or right when leaving the terminal building. When you're going to the left you can view some spots at the Ryanair-pier and you can watch the aircraft on approach (RWY23). When you're going to the right when leaving the terminal you can watch some more stands and you'll get a view over the UPS apron. From there you'll also get a nice view over the main taxiway and the runway.

Grtz,
