:dammit: WHY do those special ladys always come in the middle of the blokperiode?? Hopefully I can catch some Tuesday

well done :thumbsup2:
If you can count the blades of my engines while they work, you are too close to be save

O2 arrivals never go to HUL (huldenberg) as HUL is a point on the SIDs (departure routes) - that would give a few problems ....

West arrivals from KOK (koksy) go to KERKY (initially descend to FL110 - or 11000 feet - then to FL80 or 8000 feet)
then they make a right turn to NIVOR or on a heading 200-180° depending on the traffic - and descend further to about 4000 feet
next they get vectors (radar headings) to intercept the ILS at about 8 - 12nm
this is more or less somewhere between Waterloo and Zonienwoud (you can see them turning on the ILS when you drive on the ring)

just to be complete...
eastern arrivals fly from FLO (flora vor - +/- herk de stad?) to BUB (brussels vor - the round antenna array you can see in the field short final 25L) - descending to FL60 (6000 feet)
after or a bit before BUB they turn left on a heading of +/- 250 to join the traffic coming from the west
you can see them coming overhead whilst spotting at 02 ;-) where they make the left turn

a nice tool to view the waypoints / airspace structure is the IVAC virtual atc controller client which has the Belgian airspace included..

FLO is slightly south of Herk de Stad, in the Verdaelstraat of Grazen, part of the community of Geetbets, on the border between Vl-Br and Limburg.

Nice to notice other people also interested in our beloved VORs and NDB's . I'm very often "in touch" with them as I'm addicted to IFR navigation and planning. If anyone on this forum has a question about Belgian navaids you can always ask me (or Belgocontrol :) ) (you can find good technical explanations on Wikipedia).

Notice that VOR's aren't only used for airplanes, here is an example of Brussels VOR (BUB) on a hot summer day, the photo is taken by geocacher DST with rwy 25L in front,

(Ok, maybe they should place a fence there  )

Btw, nice pics Avro, thanks for sharing !!

Sebas

Hi,

Any news about the departure-time of the ABX DC8?
Is it planned to fly more coming days?

Thanx in advance

Yes indeed my mistake. It should have been 'near HUL VOR' or something like that.
