New VEX colour scheme

Post by teddybAIR »

Hey guys

I read in one of the other topics that Virgin Express is introducing a new colour sheme on it's planes...read it in the topic about VEX with winglets. Can anyone confirm and are there pictures of the new sheme yet. And what are the changes with the previous sheme? Hope the planes keep a nice flashy red, cause I love to see them fly over my house here! And I sincerely hope the scheme looks better than the new transavia scheme 8O , but that's just my opinion...

I really doubt that they would introduce a new colours scheme. They just painted OO-VBR in the traditional VEX c/s 2 weeks ago....

The planes wearing the older colours are however receiving the new paint. That's maybe what you read ?

OO-VEX still flies in these colors :

What they mean with "New Colors" are these :

These colors have been in the VEX fleet for a while now, but some still wear the 'old' colors.

Hope this solves it.

Yeah indeed it's quite complicated, OOVEX will just be panted in the 'new' livery with the blue and new titles, like Andries said

Euwkeej, next time I read the word 'new', I'll be more critical in interpreting it

This week I saw OO-VEX in hangar 40 with new winglets installed. Also with a blue line painted on the winglets. Very nice, can't wait to see them fly.

Aren't they due to rebrand? Is it worth repainting now?

Post by BrightCedars »

If I remember well it is part of the deal with Virgin that soon or late the brand name will have to be changed; and I think that was slated for 2006.

So I wonder if they're planning to repaint all the aircraft at a future date when they have to rebrand away from the Virgin brand and eventually from it's flashy red?

That would imply a new name, new logo, lots of marketing & rebranding,...
I don't think we need to expect that before the new SNBA/VEX structure is more solid and clear. All things in due time.
