BRU in 2006: what to expect: airlines, routes, news
Moderator: Latest news team
From March 2006, Air Wales will start again the route Cardiff - Brussels with a twice daily service.
Air Wales stopped that route in 2004 after only three months of service due to a lack of pax.
It's the government who will give some money to start up this route again to the city of Europe.
Curious how long it will stay.

Jetair will bring the Turkish airline Inter airlines to our country.
Jetair expect a lot of customers next year to Turkey. They want to fly most of the flights direct, so no combinations. In that way they could offer nice hours.
Inter Airlines will use two A321 aircrafts. Jetair wants those aircrafts instead of the big with 320 seats. In that way they could offer flexible hours.
Next year Jetair will offer a strong increase of the flights to turkey.

Official they have two B737-800 and three F100 in their fleet. But I thought that I had read something, some while ago, that they want to lease some A321 from an other Turkish airline.
They mention only the A321 and some pictures on their site but not in the section fleet. So, or the site in not up dated or they don't mention lease aircrafts.

With two weeks to go to the new year I can give some figures about BRU for 2005.
I must say, BRU had a good year. Some new pax airlines and cargo airlines find their way to BRU. Other airlines stopped their services at BRU.
PAX: with two weeks to go, BRU reached the cape of 16.000.000 pax.
They could end at 16.200.000 pax. That's 700.000 pax more then
last year.
Cargo: very good year. This year will be better then the record of 2000.
Brucargo will end just under 700.000 tons of cargo: probably
697.000 tons. 30.000 tons more then last year.
Movements: that's the only negative. They will end at 250.000
movements.
Very correct figures I can give it in some weeks.
