Favorite engine power up.

Post by fokker_f27 »

What plane do you think has the coolest sounding power up?
I like the one made by the ERJ-145.

MD-11 :D But those huge engines of the B777 make also a fantastic sound on take-off

In that case, what about a IL76? Last year I heard one taking off from CGN. A minute or 2 later I could still here him in the distance.

But a 777 sounds nice as well during take off.

I live in America, so we don't get too many Russian airliners around here....

The best start up is from the AN-22. I love those Contra-rotating props and the noise, damn good.

a Dornier turbo prop rattles, shakes, vibrates, makes it turn, moves its way to the runway instead of "taxying", makes a final turn and goes for it, power power power, and off it goes, leaving Tempelhof beneath it.

Yes the TU154 is also very noisy. I saw a few of them landing and taking off when I was in Varna.
