Airbus beluga
was the airbus beluga(known as a300-600) specialy built for transporting airbus a380 parts?
Not at all. He is build for transport for any kind of parts for Airbus aircrafts. About the A380, the largest parts are transported by ship.
We had the luck at BRU to see that bird from time to time. Mostly for "little" parts but one time he came to BRU with heavy payload for the A340 of Sabena who had an accident, crash, by landing at our airport.
The oldest aircraft of the A300-600ST is from 1994, every year - till 1997- there was a new aircraft in their fleet of ST. The youngest is from 2001.

SABCA is about to hand over the first parts for the A380 to Airbus. Will we see the Beluga back one of the next days or will it be transported with another plane?

I never said that there's something wrong with the current A380.
I only heard on the news that SABCA has closed a deal with Airbus for more then 500miljard euros for constructing parts for the plane. They have built a new productionhall en Prince Filip has inaugurated that hall today. At the end of the broadcast said the reporter that SABCA will hand over the first 8 pieces for the new planes one of the coming days....
I only wanted to know if somebody knew/knows if the Beluga is coming to recover them, and if so : when....
