Thanks for the comments on my pictures.

Today I captured this special bird: JA8962

Image

It was flying SSW (very far away and mist was setting up. No better quality can be obtained from the original  )

Does anybody know its destination?

Hello Air Defence!

Indeed a pity that the quality is poor. Anyway , still thanks that you want to share it.

Hey I saw the bird today too for the first ,with my binoculars. In marvelous light. My guess is that he was enrouting NRT-CDG (Tokyo Narita-Paris Charles De Gaulle). If it's long enough light (in the summer) you can spot some a JAL 747 and even up to two more JAL 777's on busy summer days.
Too bad it's so soon dark , you can't see them anymore now.

WHILE I was posting this, bottie already replied , so sorry if it makes it look like I really wanted to repeat what bottie wrote...but I can't delete my post myself.

Best regards: Yannick ;)

Nice one, the Pokemon 747! I saw it too, but it was too far away for pictures.
The rest of the planes during my 30 minutes of contrailspotting: a lot of Ryanairs, some Easyjets, BA's,... nothing special

To answer Lumumba: all contrails have been taken near Brussels Airport.

Today, Dec 11, some nice condition as could be noticed on earlier reports.
Noted nothing special, included are:

A330-300 of Lufthansa cruising W around 1416LT
Image

B777-200 of Air India, en route Amritsar-Birmingham, taken around 1457LT
Image

ANA's well known monstrous B747-400 JA8962 was perhaps the most special,
but with the Sun in the nose, this was the best possible shot, taken around 1537LT.

Some of my best shots taken when the skies have been clear enough. Sorry about the quality - my Canon PowerShot A95 isnt the best of cameras to use for taking high altitude aircraft:

Air France 744 heading East:

Lufthansa 757? heading East:

Looks more like a RYR B738 IMO.

Hello

Nice pictures!:P

Am always waiting for them after a day with clear skies :D

Skystef: Did the ANA passed over BRU? :s Wouldn't have thought that , Guess somebody will be pretty P:censored: D if he heres about that :D

You can see the Lufthansa planes in much nicer light than me :( I used to, when the route was North of here , PERFECT , but it moved to the south , but I guess I saw the same.

Wow Air India , didn't knew they came with T7's at Birmingham...
you can even good send one to BRU too than :D what to see in Birmingham? :?

Some busy radio traffic on the international aerospace too , not common , normally it's silent. Anyway nice , but a lot of turbulence above here it seems :D at FL240-340:D

DAT202D:

Could it be the KU 340=777?

(sorry)Nice pictures ;)

Best regards: Yannick ;)

It's not an A340 but an A300.
Wow Air India , didn't knew they came with T7's at Birmingham...icon_rolleyes.gif
you can even good send one to BRU too than icon_biggrin.gif what to see in Birmingham?
If there was enough traffic Air India would come to BRU. It seems they can make more money (better yields ??) in Birmingham.
but a lot of turbulence above here it seems icon_biggrin.gif at FL240-340:D
How did you get the info that there was a lot of turbulence at FL 240 up to FL340 above you ????
Could it be the KU 340=777?
As just mentioned, it's an A300.

Ah! The famous 2-engined Kuwait 340!!!!!
Indeed. They decided to drop two engines, cause 2 of them are enough. Otherwise they would have too much power

Something wrong with the quote. I didn't saw the last picture, just read that it was a Kuwait A340
Don't worry we know you can make the difference between an A340 and an A300 ;)

very clear skies today, and the visibility was immense with some crisp contrails.

Today I saw two 747 aircraft flying one after the other, one was Singapore airlines, followed by an Asiana Cargo airlines, and later at about 2:15pm an Atlas air cargo appeared with a closely followed speedbird 747! I also saw an Iberia A320, a Ryanair 737, three KLM MD-11s, and a Thomsonfly 767 on the same path. Also, unusually a BAe Avro jet flying in circles probably pilot training. There was also a load of heavy traffic from heathrow and gatwick to america which included BA 747s and 777s, Delta 777s, Continental 777s Virgin A340s, and Martinair MD11s.

Hi everyone,

I saw a Korean Air 777 today heading W over England today. I have never seen one before flying over our country. Does anyone know where it was going to/from?
Im not 100% it was Korean airlines but it was definitely blue on top and had the logo on the tail, or a similar logo.
