4 NEW Virgin Express destinations !

Post by FlightSimCrew »

Not three but 4 new destinations.

HAM - MUC - CPH as from Jan01, most probably on SNBA metal (semi-codeshare).

After the success of Catania VEX is now going to try PMO as new destinations. operation start 01st April06 untill Oct06.

Good prices as from 19€ excl taxes to be found on www.virginexpress.com.

Great to see that this partnership is leading to some fundanmental changes on network !!!

PMO?
At the same moment as Thomas Cook from LGG?
Looks like the beginning of a commercial fight!!!

PMO LGG HAM MUC CPH

Seems not as if people on this site will soon be nominated for the "Wablieft"-reward (usage of simple and clear language).
It's rather frustrating to read their posts filled with strange expressions and acronyms suggesting the reader has to be as highly professional as they are (a bit like the "Informaticians-illness"...)

It' easier to give the code of the airports.
Easy to find on the web if you have problem with that.

No frustration about this

So, it's only a codeshare or will VEX fly this new routes with their own aircrafts?

The new routes are mentioned in their bookings but there is no press release.

I don't still understand why they don't fly to Düsseldorf. VEX had the opportunity to fly it by it's own and no competition at all. They could use that route as a feeder line.

1. Bookings engine says :

11:40 Depart Brussels Int. Airport (BRU)
13:20 Arrive Copenhagen (CPH)
Flight TV2284

Operated by SN Brussels Airlines

So SNBA will operate the flights but will the VEX
passengers receive the same service as the SNBA passengers?

2. Düsseldorf would be nice but also Frankfurt operated by SNBA (or VEX)
like André said. The prices are so hight on that route :(

Indeed, VEX does no offer connections any longer, people from Copenhagen to MAlaga will have to buy 2 tickets, pay two times fuel taxes and get their bags and check in again... its quite a hazzle for passengers but very cheap for LCC.

Will VEX passengers receive the full SN service or will they be parked in a no-frills section at the end of the plane, like on SAS?

Virgin Express passengers booked on SN Brussels Airlines flights will get exactly the same service as SN Brussels Airlines passengers.

Is this not the first step in a real merger of both companies? Using bigger planes for the more important routes?

Why would VEX go to Berlin unless they want to already prepare the leave of Tempelhof (SNBA) and obtain the right slots in the international airport of Berlin?

I think that on SNBA metal used to fly VEX flights service will be as on VEX metal. It would not be smart to give same service, otherwise all SNBA pax will go and buy tickets from VEX. And I don't think that is the goal of the "Alliance".

Like Airbuske was saying in one of the posts: it's all operated by SNBA. It's only a codeshare between SNBA and Virgin Express.

And about Air Berlin. It would be nice to see some competition between some LCC between the two countries.

The deal between SN and VEX only concerns a limited number of flights (for the moment, at least). And if you look closely at the flights offered by VEX between BRU and CPH/MUC, you will see that only a very small part of the SN flights is offered for sale (i.e. the flights which are most difficult to fill for SN, mainly due to the uninteresting schedule).

Buying your tickets on the VEX website is still impossible for the biggest part of the SN flights, so don't be scared that people will start booking VEX tickets to get on SN flights for a cheaper fare.

May I remind you that Virgin is serving MAD every day, at least 3 times daily with their own metal. So, this is not a new destination for VEX but it could be that both carriers are moving some destinations on their timetables.
