SN Brussels Airlines aircraft painting

Post by refledge »

Hi everyone,

I've noticed today on www.qaps.nl that OO-DWC is in the paintshop. Why is SN repainting this aircraft? I thought it was just painted in the previous colorsheme in March 2002. Their are some other planes without a long blue tail, so why don't they paint these planes before the ones who had already a paintjob recently? Does anybody know why? Thanks in advance.

I don't know why, but I know there isn't any logic in this repaint campaign. :!:

It just seems that SNBA has a lot of money to repaint all aircrafts of its fleet at once :? :? I don't think it's a good dicision, beacuse you just waste a lot of money, and that in a period where you try to be profitable :?: It would have been much better to keep that money and to make maybe a small profit at the end of the year. A small profit would certainly give SNBA a better image.

This is a (very expensive) way of making the press. Maybe they should try to hire a guy who has a real marketing degree.

Refledge,
This topic has been extensively discussed in another thread: https://www.aviation24.be/modules.php?name ... opic&t=665

From the picture, it seems that the tail will not be re-painted; oonly the light blue colour will be added.

André,

I had been thinking the same way like you but this morning I saw the 2 different schemes and I must say that they will remove the upper titles and add the blue letters on the belly. It's just a little bit more than adding some purple paint...

If you look at this picture you will clearly see that they will not paint the tail but will overpaint the entire fuselage (my guess)

Here another example, if you look closely you will see that the nose will not be painted but I think they will paint the rest (belly + roof)

Bart,

Isn't the SN title on that picture OO-DWC a sticker :?:

If it is they'll probably only remove it and paint the belly. No need of painting the upper part

Chris,

it's paint, I have looked at it carefully and I know the difference between a sticker and paint ;-)

We can check the www.qaps.nl -website daily to confirm it ;-)

When they started up SNBA they wanted to save on paint and kept the same c/s (also a bit nostalgia).

And like you said , now there is plenty of money.

  • Is there not a planning on future Avro's to be painted ?

How many have been painted yet, as not every newly
    painted has a picture ?

As far as I know the only Avro's that have the new paint scheme are:

OO-DJK, OO-DJL, OO-DJN, OO-DWD, OO-DWK, OO-DWL and OO-DWE

Hello!

Out of curiosity really:
how many different liveries are there currently?
Some still in "Sabena white"?
Some avros with the first SNBA titles?
Then the Birdy 330's that got another scheme?
Then came the 319's with yet another one?
Finally (hum, for the time being) the "new look" avros?

That would make 5 different schemes !!!
No comment....

Could anyone please confirm, correct and document this?

Thank you

Following this info, the Avro 100's seem to have priority ?

SN doesn't have planes in the very old white livery of Sabena anymore

Plus the old Sabena white with the Qualiflyer blue belly. That makes six!

Hi all,

On the Action Page of Qaps you can find a nice picture of the new colour scheme.

Does anybody know why the slogan "HUP HOLLAND HUP" is on the plane :?: Maybe it's only a joke of Qaps :?: I have never seen this in real :!:

I think QAPS has put that slogan on the aircraft as it was painted only a few days before a soccer match between Belgium and The Netherlands.
