Good news indeed. The military's would be very happy with the departing of that aircraft. One of their taxiways was blocked due to that aircraft. Their bill for kerosine was a lot higher due to take an other taxiway.
The Antonov An-124-100 Ruslan (c/n 97773054359139) UR-82073 which is parked on the platform between taxiways A1 and N6 is scheduled to leave Zaventem/Brussels airport on 7 December 2005 at 09.00 local. On Monday 5 December a technical crew will arrive at Melsbroek to prepare the aircraft for the return flight to its homebase Gostomel (Antonov Airfield, Ukraine.) The freighter owned by the Ukraine plane manufacturer Anotonov Design bureau was seized at Zaventem/Brussels airport since 18 August 2004 following a lawsuit by a company called TMR based at Cyprus.
It seems that the technical crew arrives already today, hence this flight on BIAC :
According to 'Het Nieuwsblad', the AN124 has finally lef the Airport of Ostend ... After the Boeing A380 at VTM, now this ... are these the papers and TV-station we have to rely on
Finally they are going to try to get the lady out of Brussels.
Sometimes I saw some technicians around the lady for maintenance.
In january I saw an engine testrun. I have 2 pictures of a very smokey engine 2 start-up

I arrived at BRU this morning at around 1030 and saw the lights flashing on that big bird. By the time they got us on the bus (why do Geneva flights always end up at the Schengen terminal?) it began to taxi - I assumed for take off.
After business in Brussels I managed to get back to the airport for the 1440 flight back to Geneva (we were a little delayed, flat tyre) but as we taxied to the end of the runway (not sure which one, but it's where two runways begin, each at about a 45 degree angle) - there she was again.

I'm going ....... to see her depart.
Lets hope we are lucky with the weather and it doesn't rain at that moment of take-off.
I'll also try to take some photo's if there is enough light otherwise they will be very dark an I'll have to do a lot of tweaking.
Yes she left a few minutes before 12:00
We have been waiting from 08:00 and had some rain and cold wind.
I think everyone was frozen from this cold weather.
We were lucky .... some photo's were taken with sunshine.
Thanks to 2 other spotters for there company and I hope that the girl whom I spoke saw the plane leave from where she was standing.
