New Moroccon LCC with Belgian influence

Post by Atlantis »

In the first semester of 2006 Morocco will have a new low cost carrier. More details like name, logo and type of aircraft will be presented on a pressconference on 5 december at Casablanca.

The founders are two Moroccan businessman who have there experiences in the travel and hotel world.

Some weeks ago they had contacts with the TUI-group in Hannover and there was a question at Tui Airlines Belgium to give there experiences, knowhow etc because this was also a new carrier who is now successful.

This is the first I've heard of it, but it is good news so far

I hope it is better than Atlas Blue, launched a few years ago but not so impressive.

Possibly with Belgian/European influence this thing could work out real good......(Sabena aside!)

Morocco is a growing market (Tourism, Europeans buying Holiday homes, Foreign Business etc) and the King announced that he wants 10 million more tourists by 2010.........

Unlike Algeria, I believe Morocco, Libya and Tunisia have the demand for increase in air travel....and if there's a LCC, even better!

Morocco's new low fair airline with Belgium Flair

I hope these two courageous Businessmen won't apply their lodging Business model in air transportation business! Hotel rooms don't crash, aircrafts do! I hope they will be silent investors!

I saw on an other topic that JetairFly will send some cabin crew to Morocco to fly with the new crews of this new airline till they have enough people of their own.

I have a question about that. We know that they asked the Tui-group to participate and especially at JetairFly. Could there be in the future a chance that those two airlines work together?

I doubdt if they will really do this, currently they lack crew themselves escpecially due to the dual rating on B737 and F100 equipment.. possible during winter they have some people available..

Une nouvelle compagnie aérienne low-cost baptisée "Jet4you" vient d'être créée au Maroc dans le but de diversifier l'offre en matière de transport aérien à des prix compétitifs et d'attirer plus de touristes.

Indeed, Jetairfly does participate in this new airline.
Some crews could "sometimes" be based at Paris Orly (LFPO).

The first 737-400 is an ex-Corsair one.

Kind regards

For those who understand german- the company should increase the number of planes in steps of two planes/year to ten planes.

At the same time, low-cost Atlas Blue has announced 3 new scheduled routes for summer 2006 :

- Nantes-Marrakech • 3/week
- Lille-Marrakech • 2/week
- Marseille-Marrakech • daily
