This would explain why Airbus hadn't applied the painton the tail yet.
Isn't this the first time in aviation history that a plane under certification is wearing the full airline livery in such an early stage of the test programme ?
But it's a nice tribute to the largest A380 customer.

PS: Spotters in DXB, watch out for the beast
PPS: Funny thing is that MSN004 will eventually fly for Etihad :frantic:
It looks beautifull. Will this plane stay in these colours or will they continue to change the paintsheme? Maybe if this one to once be delivered at Emirates it could stay in these colours no?
In the seventies the Lockheed L1011 prototype was in full PSA livery on Farnborough.
This pre-delivery airline livery tactic of Airbus is quite misleading. Many people will claim that the A380 is already in service as usually using the pictures as proof.
I don't think it is misleading. Airbus honours Emirates with that livery
during the DXB show. With more than 40 A380's on order Airbus had
to do it and at lest I really appreciate it !
The picture knocked me of my chair, almost. The Emirates livery looks very attractive on the A380-800 (now I wonder how esthetic it would look on the bigger -900 version). It's a great marketing tool for EK and a marvelous addition to the Dubai Airshow, spotters will have their 'prime time' there. Airbus has to be working hard to regain some respect lost by delaying the A380's. Anyways positive reflections from me on this photo(great shot after all), the A380 just fits the Emirates livery. The new TG livery should look awesome on her.

I don t think Emirates is painted, even the website...
So, it can be easily removed in few days to put a new customer on...
Don t you think so ?
If you look closely, you can see that the text is on a rectangle that is a different shade of white than the rest of the fuselage. So it could be a sticker.
