Three new summer destinations from Ostend

Post by RadarContact »

According to luchtvaartnieuws.nl: Ostend Airport will get three new summer destinations. Jetair will fly weekly to Bodrum and Izmir in May 2006 and Djerba in July and August. That makes a total of 11 different summer destinations from Ostend Airport.

Welcome RadarContact

Certainly good news for OST. They could do with a replacement scheduled passenger airline for Ryanair though

Thanks

By the way, the same three destinations will be served from Liège Airport as well. That makes 14 summer destinations for Liège by Jetair.

Indeed good news for Ostend.
Is FUTURA going to operate on behalf of TUI again out of Ostend next year?
Never saw a TUI collored 737 out of Ostend...

Winter schedule is usually done by TUB's own aircraft (OO-TUI did last weeks flights out of OST), FUA is usually helping out during the busier summer schedule out of OST

Maybe one of the Turkish charter companies will operate the Turkish flights and Nouvelair will be doing the one to Djerba. We'll have to wait and see. Would be nice though to see some different passenger aircraft in Ostend.

Also Thomas Cook increases it's flights ex-ost. From summer 2006 Bodrum and Antalya will be served by Thomas Cook Airlines. It makes that TC will serve 6 destinations from Ostend.

There was also a question in this topic about possible Turkish carriers who will fly to Ostend. I can tell you, there will be no airline like that who will fly to Ost. Except maybe one, Onur air, but that will be sporadically.

Finally there will be some movements about pax at this airport.

As BRU will keep her traffic as a capital of a country, of Europe, it is in the advantage of everybody to see the regional airports developping. People who are leaving close to OST, LGG, CRL, ANR will use less ground transport to reach a plane that they would use anyways. So: benefit for the bottlenecks on highways, benefit for the gasexhausts, and benefit for the jobs!
