SpiceJet lease two 737-800s from Transavia

Post by trans »

Indian low-cost carrier SpiceJet is leasing two 737-800s from Transavia Airlines during the winter 2005/2006. The first (PH-HZC) was delivered ex-Amsterdam today as VT-SPY. The second (PH-HZW) will be delivered around November 9th.

Will SpiceJet be using the IFE system on board of those Transavia aircraft?

My sympathies to the people who will be passengers on these cattle-class planes.

Then again, the stereotype Indian is a yoga master and can put his legs behind his head, so this might not be as much of a problem. ;-)

Amen

And earthman in case u did not know, Spicejet is another LCC in the Indian Arena, so even if they decide to use the IFE then there is a very strong possibility and probability that people aka passengers may not complain as for the price they are flying, Spicejet can surely take them for a ride!

Transavia will be presenting a new livery, interior style and new uniforms on December 7th, so no wonder they didn't mind two of their planes getting painted in SpiceJet livery for just one winter season (and no wonder some of their planes were painted only white with a Transavia.com logo on them).

737-800 VT-SPZ finally departed 14.15 local time from Amsterdam via Ankara on delivery to Spicejet for lease during the winterseason.

For a photo see http://www.aircolours.com taken moments before departure.

Why were those planes painted in The Netherlands? Wouldn't it have been cheaper to paint them in India?

Why are these aircraft re-registered with Indian VT- :?:

Normally leased aircraft retain their reg. :?:
