Have to share this panel with you!

Post by teddybAIR »

Hi there flight simmers :plane: !

A few weeks ago, I came across this amazing panel for the Avro RJ and BAe-146's. Since I'm very impressed with this panel, I just wanted to share it with you guys :teach: ! It's on avsim.net, so a lot of you might allready have found it, but for those who where hesitating about installing it, here is the confirmation: it's worthwhile! It includes fully operational APU and GPU units as well as full working TRP (Throttle rating panel) The panel is made by Matthias Lieberecht and can be found by typing 'bae 146' in the search field and selecting the category 'fs2004 - panels'

By the way: could anybody tell me how to post pics of this panel on the forum, cause I'd like to give a small preview.

I hope you guys get to enjoy this panel as much as I do (nice for SN flights out of BRU)!

greetz,

bAIR

P.S: if there are any qualified Avro pilots among you guys, could you give an indication as to whether this panel comes (even a little) close to the real thing?

@ Sabena320:

I don't know if it's the same as on svagroup.org, you'll have to ask on their website. In case it is, I advise you to download it from avsim.net, it includes a manual which guides you step by step through the installation (winzip required). It is important to thouroughly follow this guide as it will not work properly if you simply unzip the panel in the appropriate aircraft folder. This because the panel comes with custom gauges that need to be extracted to the gauges file of your flightsim and custom sounds.
Thus, I suggest you download it at avsim.net. The installation process takes a while as you have to read the manual, but it's not that long and I promise: it's worth it!

By the way,

I just had a look on avsim.net and the panel is by the same author and looks the same indeed. Nevertheless, it is under fs2002! If you use fs2004, I suggest downloading it from avsim.net

good luck!

Dunno about you lot, But I just can't seem to be able to fly with it! :(

I find this panel amazing, unfortunately even with the cheat button autostart, I still can't manage to get the plane to take-off!

Will really need to print out the 130+ page manual, and study it hard! I find it very shameful though that there is no step to step procedure explaining what you have to do in order to have a succesful flight!

I'm probably gonna have to waste about 20 hours learning how to handle it properly, which in my opinion ruins the experience a bit!:(

Seems like no-one has complained about the complexity of this panel... Did all of you find it very easy to use?

@ Vinnie-Winnie,

I think you're problem is that you don't have enough thrust for take-off, right? I had the same problem. In order to have enough thrust, when lined up with the center line of the runway, you have to apply full throttle, engage the AP end the auto-thrust, and then select TO/GA mode ('TO/GA available' should appear in the GPU screen).

Hope this helps you out a little
