Great news for AC, I commend the pilots for accepting this reinforcement of AC's future. Without these airplanes AC would have bleak chances for a greater expansion, which is mediatory in a market like Candy. I'm not a big fan of Boeing, but I would like to underline that the B777 and B787 are great planes and have a perspectives. IMO AC needs some more routes to Central and Eastern Europe, which is a rapidly growing market.
YULWAWYUL -LO and AC code-share on WAWYYZWAW, I don't think that there is a bigger need. B787 is a perfect fit for this route.

Btw, VIE-YUL has been cut by OS (YYZ will be daily next summer).
I completely disagree, LO/LH can not feed the traffic all the time. Most of You probably find that the Central/Eastern European markets are not worthwhile for airlines such as AC. AC needs to expand to new destinations that are witnessing a certain 'renaissance' in traffic growth. LO will not serve all the long-hauls for years to come with a monopoly on these types of flights. The underestimating of such destinations is a mistake. Carries like AC will be able to dispatch newer aircraft ex. B787 with great performance, these planes are easy to fill up. LO has a little disadvantage, it's about to enter the Asian market and so there will be less concentration on the Canadian market, I would say that AC would have to switch with LO and send it's machines to WAW so that LO could code-share. LO will have a fleet of at least 7 787 thus making it hard to send a daily flight to YYZ. Serving destinations such as HGK, SIN, BKK(most probable) will make it very hard on LO. The carrier will be a 'Polish Frontier' on this market and giving attention to these destinations will become a priority.n5528p wrote:Increase flights to FRA and go through LH's hub for a great choice of Eastern Europe.SR89 wrote:YUL-WAW? IMO LO will not feed LH/AC the traffic all the time. There is a lot potential in the Polish market, which is experiencing [along with China and India] the biggest growth in pax in the world.
ACE has officially placed its revised order with Boeing, 36 777's and 60 787's including options. an considerable increase over the original order.

Great to see AC complete the order, which will have a certain long-term effect on the carrier's future. AC needs to lower its costs and let's hope that the B777's along with the B787 will have a positive outcome. It took AC quite some time to get this order completed, but it managed to discontinue the ambiguous talk between its employees and to bring a resolution that would help support the airlines position in the market and insure the airline's further growth.
About 2 1/5 years ago Discovery Channel ran a 3 programme series on flght#AC876 YYZ-FRA on a B767, I found it really interesting because I was due to fly to FRA from SFO Overnight, the same as 876!n5528p wrote: Increase flights to FRA and go through LH's hub for a great choice of Eastern Europe.

If they repeat it have a look!
