And from where should they have all the money to invest in an entire fleet renewal ?

And why would they replace the Avro's which they can't fill, with bigger planes ?

However thank you for the interesting point. In the case of this question, it is treated with slight hostility here so, all that I would say is to wait and see what happens with SN and it's future...
Welocome to Luchtzak too!

I remember that too, but they had the chose between the Embrear and the Aribus A318. But wasn't that a 1,5 year ago?

Indeed blackhawk.
After a thorough analysis of all possibilities (E170, A318, B717, RJ), it was clear the cheapest solution would be to keep the Avro RJs (thanks to their increadibly low leasing rates) and the leasing contracts on the 5 oldest RJ85s have since been prolongued by another 5 years, with the intention of doing the same with the 21 other planes too!
This means SN have the RJ till deep into the next decade, so no need to speculate about anything new for the next 5 years at least...

Indeed. As long as the Avro remains cheaper as other options you won't see newer planes in the fleet to replace them.

Don't forget that above the fact that they are relatively cheap to lease, the Avro is a comfortable plane and doesn't make a lot of noise for people living near airports. So perfect for BRU ;)
