767 interior

Air NZ got rid of their 767s?? Not yet, their new 777s hasn't arrived and I'm more than 100% sure the 767s are still in service because I booked a flight to Hong Kong before and the itenary said 763ER... and that was ONE OF THE reason why I changed my booking to Singapore Airlines even when it costed $30 or so more... lol...~~ but of course, ANZ has been criticised for its crap meal, crap service and crap entertainment lately...
To be honest, I must admit there is more space (seat pitch) in the average 767 as in the 777.
I thought this was only my experience after my 777 ride with United but now I hear the same complaints about the KL777, lack of space.
Are there more people around that can confirm this?

Actually I have been on Emirates 777's several times and 10 abreast is not actually that much more claustrophobic than 9 abreast on BA. Infact its NOT any more claustrophobic. THey did have narrower aisles though - which is where the room comes from.sab319 wrote:But Emirates has 3-4-3 (10 abreast) which is even more claustrophobicA318 wrote:With UA it is 2-5-2vc-10 wrote:Isn't the 777 9 abreast which is very claustrophobic?
KLM has 3-3-3
So for those 2 carriers indeed 9 abreast.
Planes were build to last 25 years, interiors were NOT. They can be upgraded & changed. The worldwide fuelcrisis is preventing this, since all the money is going to fuel iso. other, less important things
Allso older planes are decommisionned faster because of fuel, so investing in new interiors becomes useless...
NW did it, with succes, with their entire DC9 fleet...

How can a A320 replace a 767? Doesn't have the same range, capacity,...bigjulie wrote:I will e-mail ANZ to ask them, but, I am very sure they have got rid of their B767's! The A320's replaced the 6's.
The A320's have replaced the 737 at FreedomAir, I believe. I would guess it is meant as a replacement & addition to the 737 fleet.

My apologies to everyone; NZ still have their B767's
They use them from LAX to AKL & other places, but, they do not come down south to CHC anymore.
fftopic: slightly! Air New Zealand has taken purchase of their first B777-219, it arrived in AKL on Friday. YAY!
When NZ finally get all eight B777's they will ditch the B767's.
